You know, you can tell that this book was written in 2013, it just has that feel, and how boring it was.
There is just so much wrong with this book
Lets start off with how bad of a main character Gwen is. Honestly, I have never read about a more annoying character, and ive read some bloody annoying characters. All she does is whine about how a guy she meet a week ago doesnt love her.
Yup, totally makes sooo much sense because someone could totally fall in love with someone in a week, let alone HER.
And talking about that talk about freaking unrealistic. Shes having temper tantrums over a guy talking talking to other girls. Like gurl you've KNOWN him for a WEEK. Calm the fuck down. Its not that deep. Talk about over reacting.
And the thing is that the boy she is obsessing over is 19. When she is 16. I smell something illegal going on. AND the fact that somehow they must be related. See Gwens parents are Lucy and Paul DE VILLIER right. And the boy she is obsessed with is Gideon DE VILLIERS. Soo the de villiers are one big family right, so somehow Paul and and Gideon are related and so that means that somehow Gwen and Gideon are related and they are in love? Sounds illegal once again.
Don't you just love it.
Also, the entire time they were going on about how since time travel is in the past events have already happened but the people in the present will travel back in time and make that true because in the past they have already done whatever but they will travel back in the future to do that, so its pretty confusing.
Anyways onto the point, this rule had been doing pretty well UNTIL fucking Gwen decided she would give her ghost frind in the past a vaccine to make sure he would not die. But the thing is if she went into the past he shouldent exist in the present right because he didnt die of small pox and didnt become a ghost?
i know its a bit of a brain twister but like if the author has been writing about this surely she should be able to figure it out right?
ANDDDD, i know im going on but i have to say this, Gideon is the worst book guy ever. What the actual hell. Im so done with him.

This book is so wonderfully written. its not like any romance book I’ve ever read before and it’s just so heartbreakingly beautiful. When two tortured find each other and help each other heal it warms my heart.
Let me tell you. Y’all are sleeping on Archer Hale. He is top tier book boyfriend material. He walked to her house in a thunderstorm to make sure that she would not be alone because he knows she hates them. He fixed her front step because it was dangerous. He even went through bags of chips to find the ones (the folded over chips) because he knew they were her favourite.
You know what he’s so in love with her he would probably take a bullet for her too.
Okay he’s literally perfect. How have I never seen a video where someone mentioned him?

I loved how this book was not your typical romance but it was more about each character healing because of the other and how experiences can shape you. The trauma that they both had just made this book so real and heartbreaking. No but for real I was ugly crying last night for a full 10 minutes.

Now, normally I would hate the miscommunication trope but for once in my life this book was okay. I would also fall to that conclusion if I were Sadie so you know what its all goods, ill let this one slide.
While this is also better than the first book, i would not be surprised to find this book to find this book written on wattpad by a 15 year old lonar who has no social life

Girl is SpEsHuL and NoT LIkE OthEr GirLS therefore attracts the love interest because he has never meet anyone like her. Think I'm wrong? Prove me wrong I dare you. But because this author alongside the main character is NoT LiKE OThER AUthOrs she decided to throw a spanner in the works and in my opinion is the worst thing that you could do to a book aside from character death. And that is the age of social media. She did not have to make the main character obsessed with Instagram. In fact it made the whole novel worse. And in 20 years or so time what if Instagram is the equivalent of Facebook? All the younger people will read this book and be like “who the fuck uses Instagram these days? What a grandma” Not a good choice Leia Stone. So the plot is just the same where some supernatural occurrence makes it so they have to work together and fall in love radyradyraaaa. Although I do like the conflict idea and how it was executed.

I honestly didn't even know why he was in the book for the first half of the book but then when he moved in with Ruhn, Dec and Flynn. Then I think he got a personality and I love them all together their friendship was fantastic.
❥ Cormac This character was so useless that I didn't even know why he was there for half the book. Good on you SJM for killing him off.
❥ Found family Found family is one of my favourite tropes and this book did disappoint? I felt like it was just all guys and then Bryce. And everyone has a crush on her. Tharion kissed her once WHEN SHE WAS MATED AND NO ONE BATTED AN EYE. And Ithan has a crush on her (but I think he's gonna get with that wolf girl) I just thought that maybe there could have been another girl in the group because that would b so much better you know?

❥ Ruhn and 'Day' This couple, unlike Hunt and Bryce, had so much chemistry. I loved them so much and was convinced that I knew who it was doing to be. First I thought that it was going to be Hypaxia and then I thought it was going to be Celestine because she said she was with her best friend and it was weird with and because Day always got pulled out to go with her partner. And then when it got revealed who it was and that plot twist hit me in the face like a brick. And then he blocked her outtt. That hurt me mentally I need them to be together!!!
Also, their smut was so good! They are giving me RhysXFeyre energy too. I feel like they are more like the main couple then HuntXBryce

Ruhn is 100% related to Rhys because Bryce thought that he was him.
Okay from what i gathered, Azriel is the one that found her because he was alone. Cassian was the one who came into the room with Nesta. And Rhys came in and we knew it was him because of his eyes.
Also we know that Gwen and Azriel have not had their book yet so i think that that book and CC3 will be combined. SO i am very very excited for that
Also angles have sensitive wings like Rhys, Cassian and Azriel.....could this mean the species are related?
Also, I was on Reddit and people are saying that they want Azriel and Bryce to be mates!! AND NO!! I refuse to believe this. I need Azriel and Gwen I have been waiting forever. SJM istg don't do that!!

I was excited for this book. The premise seamed cool: Girl doesn't believe in love, boy makes her believe. But to me it turned out to be a total shit show: So here is my rant basically.
So we start of with how she stops believing in love after ONE COUPLE, her parents split up. Like that is normal, some people are just not made for each other. So now she has a pessimistic view on love. Which it total bull because even if you break up, you have the happy memories you made together.
So she goes to give up all her romance books because 'they don't work their magic anymore' Now that line terrified me because I never wan't the magic of books to be taken away from me.
Also can I put it out there that in this book there is a couple called Sheldon and Shelly, I don't know why that makes me laugh.
(view spoiler)[ Ok, so why does she suddenly have magic powers? Like where did that come from, it is a romance not with a fantasy setting. That had no business being in there!
Also she keeps pointing out how X has 'Classic Romantic Guy Characteristics' like OK we get it, your in a romance novel, no need to brag.
I hate how she keeps denying her attraction to him because she doesn't believe in love and then the very next minute she is 'in love' with him. Like wha- where did that sudden turn off events come from? One minute you were denying the attraction and then the next you were saying you loved him???
And then when they finally kiss, and she sees that he is going to die shes like 'How am I supposed to live without him' Like you were denying you attraction to him, then your in love and now you can't live without him? Where is the character growth? (hide spoiler)]
So overall I did not see any character growth, but I did see representation and that is great to see!

- I liked the puzzles in this book, honestly since i listened to it as an audiobook while doing chores for a week and a bit I don't remember much but I do remember being entertained
-Xander is still the best Hawthorne by far and him and Max need there own book. I can feel it in the air that they are going to get together and while i dislike Max, Xander gets what Xander wants
-The whole unveiling the mystery at the end was fun, I don't really read mystery so it was fun to guess what was going on and it all tying together was so satasfying to listen to.
-I'm also very excited for the next book so will get on top of that asap!

I was exited to read this book, I love contemporary or literally anything with romance. I am a flexible reader but this book was not for me. The family had so many children with SIMILAR SOUNDING NAMES. I can normally keep up with a story but this one was so confusing. I got the basic premise that she was not allowed to talk to the neighbours because they were "loud and messy" which I think is a bit of a stupid reason to hate someone. And then there were like 6 siblings and I had no idea who was who because the names all sounded the same. The book was not bad per se but was so confusing that I could not keep up with the story.
I may go back to this story one day and try to reread, but I can't do that right now....more
