Thank you! My advice is to keep writing and keep reading— study how your favorite authors construct sentences/scenes/dialogue. Also, if you haven't read these books, I highly recommend: Stephen King's On Writing or Ann Patchett's This is the Story of a Happy Marriage ( a book of essays, but so much great writing advice included). I have never, ever in my lifetime cried when reading a book. I'm a pretty emotionally strong guy- BEFORE I GO put me under the covers for a few minutes while the tears poured into the weaving of my pillow. What a phenomenal piece. As a writer I feel the emotion I am writing- and I wonder- did you feel it yourself when writing it as heavily as I felt it when reading it?
