Jan | 20406 comments Discover the World through Lists
One Year from Start

Goodread's Lists are a fun way to explore new books. We are going to use this great tool to "read the world".

There are 7 groups of lists below: One for each continent and one Cross-Continent group. Choose a level below and have fun exploring!

Tourist: Read 1 book from one of the lists in each of the groups for a total of 7 books.
Globetrotter: Complete the tourist requirement AND THEN read 5 more books from 5 different lists for a total of 12 books.

IMPORTANT: When posting your completed books please include what list you used.

Challenge Rules: All forms of books are accepted as long as they are 100 pages or more. When posting updates of completed books, please include a link to the title and author’s name, along with the date you finished reading the book. When you have completed the challenge, please copy and paste your entire challenge and repost in a new message, letting us know it is completed.

message 30: by Agnieszka (new)

Agnieszka (agnieszka7) | 349 comments Jen, can we use additional listopia lists to those you posted at the top of this thread?

I'm asking for two reasons:
1. I forgot to add a link in my post and while searching the Best Books on Asia list I stumbled about Terrific Thailand and noticed it has both books in the Time, Blood and Karma series on it - all the other had only the 2nd in series and I really despise reading series out of order.
2. I was born in Poland but spent most of my life in Germany with only little contact to the Polish culture and therefore I'd really love to read a (more contemporary) book by a Polish author set in Poland. So far the lists had only the classics or if it was a book by a Polish author I didn't found anything set in Poland (though I'm not finished yet with all the European list) and I'd really like to explore more of the Polish literature and Polish setting lists.

message 31: by Jan, Moderator (new)

Jan | 20406 comments Hi Agnieszka! Unfortunately, you cannot use different lists than the ones I have given BUT I can help you out with your problems.

1. If a series book is listed on one of the lists - I will except ANY book from that series.
2. If a book you want to read fits the criteria for one of the lists I have given you are more than welcome to ADD that book to the list and read it. When you are in a list there is an option to add books by clinking on "Add Books to this List" next to "All Votes" at the top of the list.

Let me know if you have any questions about the above or anything else.

Thank you that helps to a point and I understand the reasoning.
