Mr Stapleton later claimed some didn't even exist, but research seems to suggest all in fact, did. is where to go; click on 'artists' then on 'named' which contains all those on the list. The albums included are merely suggested. You don't have to stick with them; anything by that artist is ok. Nothing from the 'Related' or 'More' sections please. 0-9 noms = 3, 10-14 = 4, 15-19 = 5, 20-24 = 6, 25-29 = 7

When we get back to the themes, in a couple of weeks time, i'll include this link in the OP...plus I think we need to open up a new round for noms.
I don't know how folks are fixed for new themes to nominate, but I was wondering whether to start over, since we've moved to a new site. Our newest member, Rob, won't be aware of what's gone before. So any comments on this, would be welcome...yay or nay?
We don't have many themes left, so folks can start nominating new ones as soon as they want...so far we have these left, looks like my nom is next:

New Noms - Round 9:

I don't know how folks are fixed for..."
We could start a new round from where we left off before Xmas, perhaps? I've got one up my sleeve. :-)

164. "What the earth are they on about?!" - Songs with nonsensical lyrics...or in other words....total gibberish! - Either songs containing lyrics with made up illegible words, or just lyrics that make no sense to anybody! - the Duke

170. Wildcard Round 4 - Any song you like, specifically new or seldom heard songs (originally an idea by Val)
New Noms - Round 9:
171. 'The Nurse With Wound List'. On the first two Nurse albums appeared this list of artists, said to have been influences on the group (as it was in the beginning). There should be plenty of bands known to all but the most sheltered of souls! You will get kudos points for the weirder side of things though.

For anybody who can't remember what's gone before...Val posted all the previous themes up above, messages 4 to 7. But as I said earlier..we could start again if folks are happy to do so.

Thanks for your consideration Mr.Duke. I'm happy to go with the flow on this one.
I did mean to ask a more general question: what's the rules on nominating artists for the favourites artists votes? I had a look through the list and sneaked in Josh Ritter shortly after I joined - I assume that anybody can nominate whenever, but I suppose it's the respectful to step back an let others nominate once you've added one? If not I'll just add about 20 if you want!

Anyway...your comment Rob, got me thinking, I was wondering how many noms there were left for the current round of FA..so after some digging around, I finally found the thread with the latest nominations. So far, it's up to track 350..which is the Josh Ritter nom you submitted, Rob. There have been 17 nominations for GR14, so there could still be one or two others to come yet, however best check with Spacepig. Spacepig will, in good time, announce when he's going to open up a new group round.
I'm just putting this here for anybody who wants to see what's coming up, cos it took me a while to find this!
These are the remaining GR14 FA noms coming up:
Track 343 - Rob Crow and his many projects nominated by Fishy_Jim
Track 344 - Israel Nash (Gripka) - nominated by SussexWelsh

------------------------------------------------------------------
Theme 266 - Freak Out! Uncut magazine's list of 101 "weirdest albums of all time". There's at least one single A-side on the list (step forward 'Scratch'). The reasons for weirdness aren't always evident from the titles alone (although the exceptions should be obvious), and there's one which you'll never find on discogs; the Merzbow at #100 is actually a written-off Mercedes previously the property of his dutch label boss, with a copy of Merzbow's album "Noisembryo" hardwired into the ignition, so it plays when the car is turned on. He tried auctioning this unique item and got zero bids! - Tim

Well, when we did it as theme 24 a long, long time ago I specified
states or cities. No reason why we shouldn't do it again though with just states. It's not like there's a shortage of qualifying songs to nominate from:-)
