Everyday Adventures is a book full of adventures and challenges for you to explore your local area. Think being tourist in your own backyard. The challenges range from social, cultural and sensory adventures, with difficulty levels included. I'm looking forward to trying them out in my local area (be warned, those who know me on social media). Experiences such as "Pint Sized Tour Guide" where you have a child acting as your guide for the day, through "Urban Hike" and "Travellers Roulette" sound like a lot of fun, though there are some that I wont bother with (I don't really have any wish to organise a flash mob lol). So set out with an open mind and a sense of adventure, and you'll find places in your city/town that you didn't even know existed. I'm off to charge my camera...

Covering subjects such as composition, lens choice and how to put your subject at ease, Meyerowitz tells us what to look out for while out and about with our cameras. Packed with stunning images from the streets, this book is an inspiration to any photographers, no matter which genre they prefer. I'm now looking forward to venturing out this weekend, camera in tow, to put some of these tips into practice.

The first half of the books looks at Mengele's life and the second half the search for him, and the forensic proofs that the team found.
My main problem with this book was the delivery. If you want the information on the case, it's all there. If you want the facts presented in an engaging and entertaining way, you wont find that here. If you're looking for the man behind the monster, his motivations and what made him tick, look elsewhere. This is a clinical dissertation, set out fact after fact. Their is no building anticipation in tracking him down, no thrill of the chase. This book is sterile, and while it will appeal to those who like their history set out just so, in this day where entertaining the masses is paramount this book will fall short.

It is not a strict chronological biography, more a rambling series of memories. Beautifully written, it portrays a life among the native peoples, wild vistas and animals. This one will stay with you for a long while. Recommended....more

It doesn't go into the technical side of taking photos, but rather the business side, with chapters including Choosing Locations, Business Structures, Legalities and Licenses needed. It is aimed at entrepreneurs in the United States, so the structure is for that country, however photographers from other countries will still take something away from this book. Personally I upload to photos to stock sites, so that chapter I found of particular interest, however as I'm in Australia I found a lot wasn't relevant to me. Still it's an in-depth look at what it takes to start up any business, not just photography, and offers a lot of practical advice on the subject.

It conveys a lovely message to children that even if you're not the best at something, you're a winner just by taking part. Added to the wonderful illustrations, this book will delight young readers.

Yes we get that she has a loving family and she is whip smart, but we need the blood, sweat and tears. Instead of going through her learning the movements, choreographing routines and the atmosphere of nailbiting competitions, we get her school timetable and when and what she eats for lunch.
