Several of the characters that play a role in the original trilogy make appearances here so it was nice to see them in the "before". The audiobook is well done - I've listened to this entire series and have not read the books myself, even though I own the original trilogy....more

It was so boring. We know how the story is going to end and there wasn't really anything going on in the book. I would have liked more character growth. While the entire series has had at least a whiff of white privilege, I thought the opening of this book reeked with it. I loved the world-building in the first book of this trilogy but with no character growth in books 2 and 3, it was just a flat story. ...more

As far as young adult dystopian goes it was enjoyable. It is interesting that the only type of twins in this world is identical. Even the passing mention of the biological factors that lead to twins leaves out the possibility of two eggs. There was also an action that seemed to be too convenient. ...more

At 18 and 20, the main characters are not as young as the kids in those movies but some of their attitudes and reactions made them seem younger. As a teen, I would have enjoyed the book and as an adult listening to it as a summer book it held my attention. Read my full review at ....more
