I don't write many short stories: sometimes, I fear, I need fifty words to describe a sneeze.

But when I do take time away from a novel for a briefer tale, I always have a blast.

So. . .meet the skydivers, two brothers sprinkling their dad's ashes over the dairy farm in which they grew up, and the Pentagon analyst who -- on a Saturday morning bike ride -- witnesses their descent and the disaster that follows.
