I do also have such great affection for the whole Wednesday Gang, who sort of came to me on their own and feel like real people to me, rather than figments of my imagination. It is such a joy--always--to hear from readers who do as well.

And I wouldn't be surprised to find them asking for another book!

But at the moment, my writing efforts are being spent on THE RACE FOR PARIS. Like the Wednesday books, its about women friends, although this time the setting is WWII France, and the women are journalists:

THE RACE FOR PARIS. Two journalists, denied access to press camps and the front, join forces with a military photographer and race toward Paris, to record its liberation from the Nazis and thereby make history. Inspired by women who defied military regulations, gender barriers… (more at )

I actually started RACE before I started THE WEDNESDAY SISTERS--15 years ago! It's been a labor of passion, love, and sheer literary stubbornness. I'm so excited to have it finally making its way into readers' hands this summer (Aug 11!). I hope you'll watch for it!

And again, thank you. Please do tell friends. That is the way readers find books, and books find readers.

Warmly,
Meg(less)

“we could hurt each other even when we weren't trying to, and that none of us was as perfect as we liked to pretend.”
Meg Waite Clayton, The Wednesday Sisters

“Linda asked that morning what it was about Charlotte’s Web that Ally particularly liked; maybe it would help to think about that, since it was Ally’s model book.
“I like the family that comes together in the barn,” Ally said without hesitation. “I like that they aren’t all the same thing; one is human and one’s a spider and one’s a pig. I like that it has nothing to do with blood relations, and everything to do with love.”
Meg Waite Clayton, The Wednesday Sisters

“My father used to say courage isn't the absence of fear, but rather going forward in the face of it.”
Meg Waite Clayton, The Last Train to London

Bloomin’Chick (Jo) aka The Eclectic Spoonie Meg, we missed you over at The Wednesday Sister's Tea and Talk and hope that everything is alright. I hope we're able to clear up some of the confusion on our end in time for next week's chat (and so that we can continue at other times). Holli and I have been looking forward to it!
