Seven Days in June by Tia Williams

Book Talks with Rosie’s first review of the year

it was ok
Unfortunately this one wasn't for me. I'm in the minority here, and I didn't hate it but I really didn't like it.

It felt crammed with black american millenial stereotypes, almost forcing the american blackness of the book on the reader. Also there was a conversation about why can't black books be cozy and not about suffering and I was like yeah. But then why is

Witchshadow by Susan Dennard

Book Talks with Rosie’s last review of the year

really liked it
4.25*

However, this book was my least favourite of the series, only because I found the plot kind of repetitive. Basically every group of characters flip flop between being captured and on the run. The plot almost was just there as a background while we uncovered the mysteries behind everything, it didn't real
