Shouldn't someone open a thread in Feedback about that, so a ticket gets made?
For what? To create a filter to prevent the dozen or so books that got tagged with Biology from being so tagged?

To prevent books that should be tagged Biology from being listed with author Biology. (Or did I somehow read this thread wrong?)
I'm not talking just Biology BTW, but any subject. (Is it possible that there was just no author in the import record, so the subject was accidentally grabbed instead?)
My point was that there was a very small number of affected books. Not worth the programming time.

Peter's question made me curious how widespread the problem might be, and that led me to find another one that's a little bit trickier.
Author Chemistry actually exists, and should, but mostly appears as a secondary author-subject like Biology was above.
Physics, thankfully, does not appear to have the same problem. (Yet?)

Author Chemistry actuall..."
I know that this is OT, but since started here I wanted to reply here. Maybe someone with the privileges to do so can move it to the proper thread (or start a new thread).
Out of 52 distinct works from Chemistry, I found only 1 book (Almost Doesn't Count) where Chemistry was an author; the rest were using Chemistry as a tag.
That is not counting the following titles and tags that were entered as authors:

ETA: The above (including all research and my slow typing) only took about 90 minutes to find and verify (including fixing 2 editions that I found with other errors that I did not list). There are many more examples out there.

I have also found dozens of examples where Author and Title were swapped by imports.
If imports were perfect, there'd be no need for librarians.
Those should all be fixed. (I can work on some tonight.) But I doubt there is a realistic way to filter out issues like these without also filtering out lots of correct/desired data.

All too true.
For anyone else wanting to find more of these kinds of errors, just choose your favorite (or least favorite) subject, and do an author search. Unless someone else already chose that one, I'll guarantee that you will find at least a few records needing fixing.

And if we know in what ways they are most frequently imperfect, we can hopefully also find ways to code around them when the cost/benefit justifies it.
I, for one, wish there were an easier way for Librarians to search for common errors (e.g., the above, dates included in the author_name field, variations in diacritic marks or high/low ASCII/UTF characters) but I'm not holding my breath until that becomes a priority.

No need for merging, and not the primary author on anything I can see, so it seems to be a straight deletion, but I'd rather not have to edit all those books individually and I can't see how to make the profile disappear.
