Nidhi Thomas (nidhithomas) | 650 comments Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1) by Richelle Mead
OK OK OK For three years I have thought Twilight Saga as the best Vampire novel which has been written in he whole wide world...only to be proven so wrong, so so so wrong.
I am not saying Twilight is bad or anything,I still love it because it was my first saga which got me into reading. Anyway to the book(s).
Vampire Academy is shown in Rose Hataway's view. She is a sixteen year old teen who is attending a vampire academy (as the clue is in the title). In the Vampire Academy world there are three types of vampires- Damphirs ( Gurdians to Moroi. Mostly Human)(Oh no fangs), Moroi( The royal's,well most of them. Need to drink blood and specilizes in an element) and Strigoi ( Evil vampires, need to drink blood, but if they drink moroi blood, they become more stronger. Strigoi's can't go in the sunlight and stake in the heart can kill them). So Rose is a Damphir a training guardian, but is dead set on only protecting one Moroi- Enter Lissa, Rose's Best Friend since they were little.
After they have escaped from the academy thinking of protecting Lissa from an evil force that could destroy Lissa and even Rose. They are captured by the academy gurdian and is forced back to the academy. Soon Rose falls for her and guy who is seven years older than her and he is her teacher. This relationship they have is kept hidden and denied but what if the evil forces uses that against them and because of that could kill Lissa and Lissa's annoying friend Christian.
Ok that is just funny becaue well I cant say anyting with giving away an awesome twist to the story away. Ever corner there is something, that will make you shocked! It is an amazing story, it is well balanced between love and reality in Rose's world. It grabs your attention and you just can't put the book down, its that gripping. It is a must read!!!
One last thing. IT.IS.FUNNY.AS.HELL
5 stars! AGAIN!!

This was an amazing book that many think is a bad book compared to the first. I gave it 5 stars and will always support it. After joining the Varden, Eragon must train with the elves. Many surprises that wold ruin the book are after this so I will not tell them.

Hmmm, I don't know, It wasn't really bad, neither was it really good. I see the storyline and its really good, but I thought it was badly written. There was a lot or repetition, and the main character sounded really whiny and annoying through out the book. I understand the author is trying to make the story unique and different, but, the readers mostly like strong characters, not weak, maybe it's me, but I always like to read characters who have a strong personality. I wouldn't say its a bad read, it's an ok read, thinking about it, I wouldn't mind reading it again, but it will take a really long time. Like I said it depends on the readers perspective of the story, me I just took it differently :/
3 stars.
( I still haven't read the second book...I don't know it just felt bit burgh to me..but I will try read the other four books, after my reading rampage!)

Urgh! Everytime I read this book, I am left with the same feeling! Desperation! I need to know what is going to happen!
This is one of my most favourite books! Everything about this book is amazing! The cover, the story, the characters, the idea, the setting, the writing....just beautiful! Veronica Roth truly has truly written such an amazing story! and I am extremely happy she has shared it with us! The thing is Veronica wrote it in a way that also involed the readers as well, manipulating our emotions! not some story smothered onto a pieces of paper where noting makes sense, just some plain nonsense! Argh it's an amazingly balanced book...MUST READ!
5 stars!

Nidhi Thomas (nidhithomas) | 650 comments Crescendo (Hush, Hush, #2) by Becca Fitzpatrick

Woohoo! to rampage reading! No sleep what so ever and my brain is filled with stories and characters! I am consumed in the sea of books! And I am loving it!
Anyway to my review for Crescendo. Ok I am going to beginning by saying how much I admire the first book, 'Hush Hush' it was a really good story and everything made sense it and I throughly enjoyed it! When I heard there was going to a second book, I was over the moon! I had such high hopes for this book and to find it crushed after reading the second to third chapter. It was just painful! I know I am reading this again even though it is bad, but I keep thinking that I am interpreting the story in a wrong way, but I don't think I was, every way I looked at it, it...was..just...bad...
To me it seemed like Becca just went wild and just wrote something that came from the top of her head and forced to story to go in a way, which just didn't flow smoothly..it was just such a mess.
The characters....A.K.A Nora...urgh such and unbearable female lead, so whinny, weak and just plain sad! She just jumped into conclusion with no strong evidence for it! What happened to Nora! The strong minded-stuborn women!
Patch..oh my dear sexy Patch. You 'made' my world the first moment I read you! You came into my nerdy book mind like an angel descending from the sky...You gave me hope that all Angel male lead weren't bad....oh how I wish you were the sweet, kind, protective, sarcastic, dick headed guy! But now you just turned into a slut hunting male...I am sorry I shouldn't judge you! I am sorry I will give 'you' a second chance! I love you too much!
urgh I just can't say much about this book, but i can say that I kinda liked the ending...it was interesting....I mean like the very end part, the very end! The very end line! That's all I liked about this book..I am sorry Becca Fitzpatrick I love your first book! I do! very very very much do! I don't mean to be mean, but I just yeah said what I thought :/ I will read 'Silence' and see if I can like it :)
I am giving the book 3 stars..

Yeah I kinda agree, but I had to think about it when you have low self esteem (which she did have in the first book too) you're like that when something you been expecting/waiting to happen happens. Trust me I see it all the time. So I understood that after awhile, but seriously who can be made at Patch?? I mean it's Patch.......

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) This is a book I've read a couple of times and am still enjoying it. It is "The Green and The Grey" by "Timothy Zahn". A wonderful interpretation of ancient folk lore intertwined with modern day society. It is about a couple who on their way home from a play find a girl with choke marks on her neck and their journey to find out where this girl came from and what she is hiding. The story is fast placed and grips you from the first chapter. Good for anyone older than 12 and a great book to read with your family.

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) I'm not sure if nayone has already reviewed Inheritance the last Eragon book or not but here is my opinion. The first book was interesting enough to read the second which sucked, I think Paopini lost a lot of readers after the second. The third was way cool and the fourth? A terrific ending to a fun series. Christopher's writing has much improved and it is evident in how mature and full the charters become in this last book. I loved the end, a very satisfying ending that shows that, while the charters live on and have more adventures in their lives, this adventure is at an end. He adds more of Roan which I believe everyone wanted to see and the twists within the plot keep the pages turning. The Varden are on the campaign. Their entire organisation is marching to Uru'baen. There are many hardships and Roan is sent off to another city they are having trouble with, while Eragon is still seeking out the rest of the riddle that Solembun told to him. I got this book for Christmas and had it finished before New Years. Loved it and Christopher leaves you wishing for another series about Eragon's adventure looking for an island and living there as the teacher. So well done!

Mazerunnergunner (Rubberduckboy1) [book:Cyborg|8570543
Cyborg was greatbut it took 3 people to write a 100 page book. They are so lazy how do write the whole story in 100 pages.Really I can't believe it.Now i think this book wasn't even that good. The Mckissacks should stop making books that leave you hanging there. The second book was the same as the first except the first one was a point of view from a clone but the second one was the same thing but is was the point of veiw from a cyborg. This made me not want to the third book.I recommend you not to read this series. You will be bord after book one!The series probably took them a week to write after all they had three people.

I had to read this for language arts but it was actually really good. I really like the main character Nina because she sometimes disagrees wih her mom, but she loves her so much, she tries to not be bad. I normally don't read this type of book but I still loved it. You should read it if you like twists.

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) The War of the Roses by Alison Weir was so well done and fun to read. Five Stars! Loved this book. It was very interesting and I could hardly put the book down. It was well written and all the facts seemed to be real. No added scenes or conversations that had no evidence of every being said or done. I got a little lost in all the names and places but I still greatly enjoyed the book! I would highly recommend it to all history fans! I can't wait to read some of her other books.

Nidhi Thomas (nidhithomas) | 650 comments Fire (The Seven Kingdoms, #2) by Kristin Cashore

I have mixed feelings about this book. I like it and I don't.
The story is not the best, because it dragged and dragged nothing interesting, actually nothing interesting happened :( I was so sad after I finished this book, because I loved Graceling and I thought Fire would have been just as amazing! I don't know why I did not like it much and my guess is because I skimmed through this book, so I didn't connect with the book so that is why. Because of that I didn't want to be unfair so I gave it 4 stars. From what I have read Fire herself seems like such and interesting and her history with her father was very detailed and explained that I understood her feelings towards her father. I bet there are many other goods about this book I haven't noticed.
So yes I am giving this book a 4 stars and I am not stopping anyone from not reading it! Do read it and let me how you like it!

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Across the Univers by Beth Revis

This book is about a girl who is frozen with her parents and goes to a new planet, but she never gets there. She is woken up and nearly killed but a mysterious killer who has more victims on his mind. She teams up with the next leader of the people on board the spaceship and a crazy loon in the hospital. And yes she does figure it out in the end.

I thought the book was a little annoying. Parents are bad, but we love em anyway, we just don;t like them, adults are crazy and only the teens can see the truth, the way things are done today are the only right way and it was never different and never will be bla bla bla same old same old. The only really interesting charter was the recorder and the only interesting scene was when the main charter was being frozen. Really not worth the time I spent reading and the lack of sleep while I thought about how to describe how stupid the book it.

Nidhi Thomas (nidhithomas) | 650 comments The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

Oh oh I have been wanting to read this book for a very long time and finally I did it! I did it! and I am so happy! I loved it! Yes the starting was confusing because the point of view kept on changing, but I loved how she made us feel like a part of the circus! It was brilliant! I didn't skim read it :D I actually read it! Sorry I am so happy with this book! The story seemed unique to me, well because I have not read any other circus book with a tinge bit of romance, but the idea of being a big game is just pure genius. Through this whole book I just wanted to read more and more I wanted to know what was going to happen, the situation between Marco and Cecila just seemed so rough and looked like it wasn't going to end well made it beautiful!
Talking about the ending it was tragic and happy at the same time, Nidhi likes that!
Erin played with our senses, giving us the details of whatever was going around the character and also what they were thinking a feelings, it was well written :)
I do have some baddies about the book and that would be the point of view changed a lot meaning the characters point of view, it was hard to understand. And that is it really.
So I am giving it a 4.5 stars :D

I adore this book. Its an emotional book. After each chapter you can't stop reading.I read for at least 5 hours straight until midnight!I hate the way the US's government is run in the book. Why do you have to make the higher districts suffer?Just because a war you had in the Capitol. You know Katniss has the best chance to win because she is the main character.Kids as young as Prim or Rue shouldn't die!Why would the Gamemakers change the rules so that Peeta and Katniss both can live. It is like they favored Katniss. When Katniss as screaming "Peeta Peeta" she sounded defenseless, weak spineless and foolish. At the end she proves her worthiness by winning!

Nandanie (biblioholic369) Intertwined (Intertwined, #1) by Gena Showalter

This book is marvelous! I enjoyed it all the way! It is about a boy named Haden. He couldn't pronounce his name so he was called Aden. He was born with a "disability". He has 4 voices in his head from four other people who do not know anything about themselves-their lives, who they were or if they even had a body. One of them, Elijah, can predict the future, even your death. he says that Aden will die at a young age with three scars on his body. He also claims that Aden will meet a brunett that will "pitch them in a black hole" but when the events start to unravel, Aden realizes that he will lose what is dear to him...

Alot of people love Erin Hunter and I can see why. Even though it is a book for younger aged kids, I absolutely loved it! No romance, no paranormal abilities. It's just the wild and a mob of cats. And throw in some crazy war thingy in there and you got it! When Rusty, a housecat, finds himself being confronted by three wild cats. They claim that he is in their territory. Food is diminishing, the cats are starving and the Clans are on the verge of war. When certain events take place, Rusty (who is now called Firepaw) is led to suspicion. Who killed Redtail? Is Yellowfang guilty of the rumors? And what will Shadow Clan do to take their territory?

I see why Brian Selznick is loved around the country. He uses such great drawings in his book. Some people probably don't read the book for its words they probably read it for the drawings! The title described my reaction to the book. The drawings told the story so well. I now know why one of Brian Selznick's was a new york times best seller. More of his books should become best sellers. Although this was similar to Hugo I still think this book out ranks the New York Times Best Seller Hugo. I still wonder why did that book make it and this one didn't.

I was completely in love with this book as soon as I read the first page... and that says something. I was very happy to read this, I felt speacil while reading this book. I normally hate books that are written by men because they don't exactly express the details that I love to read. But after reading the first page in this book I forgot about that and just could not get enough. Loved the cliff-hanger ending. This book was full of emotion (love that about books). My favorite character is Ashlyn's sister Eve. I don't know, there's just something about her that is just real cool. Anyways (to stop blabbering on about how awesome this book is) this book is HIGHLY RECCOMENDED!

Bloodrose (Nightshade, #3) by Andrea Cremer

I knew from the last book Wolfsbane, that this book was going to be depressing. I mean, Dax and Fey betraying their alphas, that was absurd, I loved Fey. Then Cosette kills herself, c' mon, that is just not fair! She is an innocent sweet wolf, she did not deserve to die, Sabine lost her little girl, that is heartbreaking. I am definetly glad that Ethan and Sabine are together. But when Ren died I was pissed because, I wanted Calla to end up with Ren. Ren loved Calla so much, that was something that I hated about this book. Calla lost her mom, Fey, Dax, Cosette, Monroe, and she almost lost Ansel. Omd! Calla must have been in chin deep sorrow. I for one would have commited suicide when Ren died, I loved him. I still do. As for all the were's being turned permaneatly into wolf's, that was bullcrap, because Sabine will never be with her pack again. I can feel her pain, and it hurts real bad. This book would have been better if it wasn't so down-right depressing. During this whole book I was depressed. Andrea, I love your book's but, seriously? Did you really have to kill Fey? Have Cosette die? Ren die? Have Sabine lose her wolf and pack? Have Silas die? (I secretly loved him!) God! I love these book's but, I am so upset with the turn-out. Then having the were's stay as wolf's hurt me a lot because I knew that a lot of families/relationships are being torn apart. The pain was intense and very feel-able. This book is full of sadness, depression, war, death, betrayal, grief, heart-ache, romance, rejoice, and tears for those that are alive but not really with them. I would reccomend this book to those who like to cry and be depressed.

I have read so many great books so far but this one may be the jewl of my collection. This book thrust me into a world I never new existed (technically still does not exist but still) and made me wish and think I was Ellie. This book was both beautiful and dark. All the characters were very well written out that I (at some points) thought I knew them in person. Highly Reccomended! Completely enticing. Edge of your seat action. I truly can not wait for the next installment of ANGELFIRE!
