I just finished reading a book for school.. The Things They Carried...it was actually really good. now i have to write a paper on it and do a presentation with my group..who i might add..are a bunch of morons..(minus 2 girls)..i get stuck with the people who don' know how to read books and actually refuse to read it!!

haha i promise im not really that mean. im just annoyed that im the only one reading it and doing work for it.

message 9: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (readerandwriter) Thats totally understandable Jamie :)

message 10: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Williams (misslaurenwilk) | 425 comments I just started on the Birth of Venus, by Sarah Dunant. It seems pretty good so far. I'm ready for some action though!!

message 11: by Spencer (new)

Spencer (spencerafreeman) yay! you finished the things they carried jamie.. i'm glad you ended up liking it... its been my mission to try and convert people to liking that book haha. first I made my boyfriend read it and he liked it- he doesnt even like to read! now i'm letting my friend read it and he said so far its good.

message 12: by Spencer (new)

Spencer (spencerafreeman) for people reading/already read the Twilight series, what did you think of it? I've been wanting to read it but I'm on the fence still- I'm not that into vampire premises, but I'd be willing to give it a try if it really is as good as people say it is... Is it?

message 13: by Kelsey (new)

Kelsey (kelseynicole) ahhhh LOVE IT. im so addicted. hahaha literally i carry the books in my car with me so i can read them whenever and whereever.!! you could say im totally "bitten"

message 14: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (readerandwriter) I'm currently working the 3rd installment. Its wonderful Anastasia. It so good it is addicting. There are a number of Twilight fan groups here on goodreads. You should check the member number. Everyone loves Twilight. It is the hottest series on the market right now.

message 15: by Kelsey (new)

Kelsey (kelseynicole) Yes it is..im in i think 3 twilight groups. hahaha

message 17: by Kelsey (new)

Kelsey (kelseynicole) ive actually always had a wild imagination and have been very open to those kinds of things. so it has never really been a problem for me.

message 18: by Kelsey (last edited Feb 25, 2009 02:17AM) (new)

Kelsey Baguinat (kelseybaguinat) Oh, Twilight. We had a Breaking Dawn release party at my Barnes and Noble, and there were many, many shrieking teenage girls. The series isn't bad. Anywho, I just finished reading "Hell House", which I loved. It was an awesome haunted house story!

message 19: by Kelsey (new)

Kelsey Baguinat (kelseybaguinat) Oh, and I did start reading House of Leaves, which is just pretty much insane, but it's good.

message 20: by Kelsey (new)

Kelsey (kelseynicole) haha sweet what is it about?

message 21: by Jamie (The Perpetual Page-Turner), The Founding Bookworm (new)

Jamie (The Perpetual Page-Turner) (perpetualpageturner) | 4407 comments Mod

Lauren Williams (misslaurenwilk) | 425 comments Okay... I'm almost finished with The Birth of Venus by Sarah Dunant and it is already one of my faves!!! A MUST READ for all gals. It's awesome! But then again, my guilty pleasure is historical fiction! :)

message 23: by Kelsey (new)

Kelsey (kelseynicole) oooo i love historical fiction!!

message 24: by Spencer (new)

Spencer (spencerafreeman) Okay, so you girls know I caved in and bought Twilight this weekend. Haha. I'm only on page 15 I think right now, but it's drawn me in.. I'm eager to just dive right in to it, but since I'm at work I have to wait...
I brought it with me, though, so when my lunch break comes around you know what I'll be doing! (aside from eating, of course)

message 25: by Kelsey (new)

Kelsey (kelseynicole) haha yay!!! im so proud!! Trust me you will be addicted. My mom just begged me for the 2nd the other day. she started reading them on saturday..she is going insance already trying to read them all. hahahah Im already "Bitten" so i cant get any worse. lol

message 26: by Spencer (new)

Spencer (spencerafreeman) "bitten," Haha that's funny Kelsey.. I'm sure once I get into it I'll join the masses and won't be able to put it down. I'll let you know what I think as I get into it :)

message 27: by Kelsey (new)

Kelsey (kelseynicole) okay you have to!! That will be your goal in life..to tell me what you think of twilight. lol

Jamie (The Perpetual Page-Turner) (perpetualpageturner) | 4407 comments Mod
oh great. I think i am the only one in this group who hasn't read them! :) I guess I will have to succumb to Twilight so that I'll have something to talk about :)

message 29: by Kelsey (new)

Kelsey (kelseynicole) yup its a must. lol

message 30: by Spencer (new)

Spencer (spencerafreeman) Kelsey, I just thought you'd want to know that I am in LOVE with this book! I stayed up last night even though I had a headache AND had to get up early and read... I read at least 200 pages and I had to force myself to put it down to go to sleep... I can't wait to crack it open again!!! I hope the rest of the series is just as good..

message 31: by Kelsey (new)

Kelsey (kelseynicole) hahaha YAY!!! I told you so! Im so happy you love it!! Trust me it is sooo addicting!!!! I carry the books in my car so i can read them anytime i want!! lol

message 32: by Spencer (last edited Oct 09, 2008 02:45PM) (new)

Spencer (spencerafreeman) Soooooo.... I finished Twilight! AND I went out and bought New Moon before I was completely done w/Twilight so I would have it to read when I was done. After I finished Twilight last night I cracked open New Moon late last night and I couldn't stop reading! I had to make myself put it down to go to sleep and now I'm on pg 175 of it! Haha, GREAT recommendation, Kelsey. I'm hooked!
