YA Buddy Readers' Corner ♥ discussion

★ This will be a non-reading challenge, with a variety of tasks.
★ This challenge will take place from July 1st to July 30th.
★ Simply complete each task to earn points which will count for this challenge, and will also count towards your total for the MMC.
★ You may choose to take part in this challenge, without taking part in any of the other challenges happening this July at YA Buddy Readers' Corner ♥

How It Works:

There will be a different task to complete each day. Some days may be posted in advance, you can still complete these the day they are posted.

When you think you know the answers(s), simply send me a personal message making sure to let me know which day's task(s) your answer(s) are for.

I will then send you a message back, letting you know how many you guessed correctly, and which ones you got wrong.

If you get an answer wrong, don't worry, you have three chances to get it right. If you think you've found the right answer, simply message me again ☺

All tasks will remain open until the challenge ends at 00:01 on July 31st 2025.

Types of tasks -

★ Find That Phrase

For "Find That Phrase" tasks you'll be given a short phrase from a book's blurb. Your job is to find which book that short phrase came from.


★ Match The Book

For "Match The Book" tasks, you'll be given a list of statements and a list of books. Your job is to match the statements to the books that might have come from. Each statement will match with a different book, so 5 statements and 5 books.


★ Title Scramble

For "Title Scramble" tasks you'll be given a jumble of words, and told how many titles are in there. Your job is to work out what those titles are.


★ Book Codes

For "Book Codes" tasks you'll be given the first letters from each word in a book's title and author's name (not including the series name). Your job is to match those letters to the correct book.

★ Tasks will be posted daily or will be posted in advance.

★ All books used in this challenge have been buddy read in our group at some point.

★ Tasks are open from the time they are posted until the challenge ends.

★ Answers should be sent via personal message to me. Please include both the question and answer so I know which task you're completing.

★ Please be careful to spell answers correctly, or link me to the book, otherwise, I might not realise that you have the correct answer.

★ Once I have read your message, I will reply to you to let you know how many tasks you have answered correctly. (Please be aware that you may not get a response right away, partly due to time zones, and partly because there will be a lot of things going on ☺)

★ If you answer one or more descriptions incorrectly, you do have up to 3 chances to answer correctly, simply send me your second guess, and/or third.

★ Answers posted in the thread will be deleted, and the person who posted them will be disqualified.

★ This is a non-reading challenge, you do not need to read anything for this challenge, you simply have to find books which complete each task.

★ This challenge will end at 00:01 on July 31st 2024, Pacific Time - Answers received after this time will not be counted, so please be sure to send in your answers before this time. Do not worry if you sent your answers in but didn't receive an answer before the end of the challenge. As long as your message is sent before this time, it will count ☺

★ Winners for this challenge will be announced on July 31st, which is the day before the results for the overall MMC. Points for this challenge will count towards your overall MMC score.

★ There is no need to sign up for this challenge, simply send me your answers when tasks are posted ☺

A - yes, all books should have a buddy reading thread on our group ☺


Q - when do we get to find out the correct answers?

A - There are two ways to find out the correct answers, find what you think could be the answer and I'll tell you if you're right, or wait until the end of the challenge, when answers will be posted here ☺

A - You can answer them in any order, you don't have to start with 1 ☺

Not sure if I'll have time to participate fully, but always enjoy this challenge. 🎉
