Hanii Aburame | 49 comments My new reading goal this year; read 30 book books by October along with 100 manga/graphic novels. If I can accomplish reading the 30 books, then I'm going to "invest" in a book advent calendar! Also, if anyone could point me in the direction of a manga or GN advent calendar, I'd be very grateful!

But I digress. This year I'm playing Doc's Scrabble Scramble (correctly this time,) I'll try to alternate the theme and color cover challenges, starting with the action theme in January, and I'm also keeping track of the books I read in each month here. They obviously won't count towards the 100 GNs. I'm just bad at forgetting to add dates on 카지노싸이트 and I can't do another tracker app...

Good luck to everyone on their challenges, and off we go!

So, this advent calendar for books is news to me. Is this something like reading a comic issue a day till Christmas? If so ComiXology through Amazon Kindle has a lot of titles and it wouldn't be hard to look into Holiday themes. Have fun. :)

Hanii Aburame | 49 comments thanks! : )
The book advent calendar I found through a short video on Facebook from a online bookstore, but people even do it themselves for their loved one. (The people are mostly guys doing it for their girlfriend/wife though lol.)
What it is, you order the "advent calendar" in advance of December. When the box arrives, there will be 24 books inside, all wrapped individually, and each one is numbered. On December 1st, you unwrap the book with the 1, on December 2nd you get to open book number 2, and so on and so forth, like a normal advent calendar.
The main site I find it at was bookgrocer .com. However, I didn't do a ton of research to find the best prices/variety of books, that'll be done later this year lol.

I would absolutely love to find one done with manga or graphic novels instead of books. But this is a nice push to get my book TBR down, so I'll still be happy if there isn't a manga calendar out there. And the reading a comic issue a day until Christmas is a really good idea, I have to do that this year! Thank you for the idea!

Sadly I already have too many books to get excited at the thought of getting 24 new ones before Christmas. Now with collecting e-books I have more physical space but it is easier to collect being instantaneous for any series I did not start physically already. :)

I hope you enjoy if you do a holiday comic calendar. Here are a few holiday comics I read last year.
Action Comics (1938-2011) #93
Action Comics (1938-2011) #105
Sabrina the Teenage Witch Holiday Special
Archie's Holiday Magic Special

In hind sight after reading this list I could have probably added or subtracted 12 for the next Christmas Superman comic. :)

Thank you for the suggestions! And the idea of reading a comic issue every day leading up to Christmas, I'll have to try that! Even my comic issue TBR list/pile is long, lol.

I'm a bit of (aka completely and utterly) a book dragon. If I've had a bad day, I sometimes sit by my bookshelves and look at the books, imagining all of the stories inside, letting my mind wonder, or I just think about reading them... I actually feel better after that. I feel like that is weird yet normal at the same time lol. Anyway, I do like e-books and have quite a few, but I prefer physical books since they are calming to me. :3

Also, I asked my mom to make the advent calendar for me so I could get books, manga, and graphic novels that I actually would like instead of only random books. Thankfully, she knows my tastes and loves books too.

If you have any other suggestions for holiday comics or manga, I'd love to hear them! I'm attempting to make lists of comics, GNs, and manga that involve different holidays, and seasons too. As a mood reader, it'd be very handy, but it's also a lot to put together lol. :)
