Elizabeth (elizabethlk) | 360 comments I have a few in mind for this one, but I'm interested in seeing what other people suggest too. I'm currently considering Lavender House by Lev A.C. Rosen, Scorched Grace by Margot Douaihy, and Meddling Kids by Edgar Cantero.

Karen Witzler (kewitzler) | 173 comments Something by Rita Mae Brown - probably Six of One .

Betty | 17 comments Looking at A Drop of Corruption because I really liked The Tainted Cup. Also, Murder Most Actual looks fun.

message 6: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Huerta | 125 comments I'm considering Ace of Spades or Harrow the Ninth.

Andi-Roo Libecap (andrejia) | 9 comments Sorry — I meant to ask, Does The Tainted Cup fit this category?

message 9: by Cosmogyral (new)

Cosmogyral (Gav) | 1 comments I'm going to read The Potency of Ungovernable Impulses, having enjoyed the previous two. F/F scifi echoing the Sherlock Holmes formula.

Betty | 17 comments Andi-Roo wrote: "Sorry — I meant to ask, Does The Tainted Cup fit this category?"

It does have a queer main character, so I think it would count. However, romantic/sexual relationships are only touched on a small amount and not a major focus.

Audra (themonkeygirl) | 101 comments I'm plannig on Who Is Vera Kelly? for this one.

Carly Really Very Normal (seullybwillikers) | 43 comments "I Kissed Shara Wheeler" by Casey McQuiston

Anna Perez (beanbageyes) | 3 comments The Tainted Cup sounds fabulous. I’ve chosen this for task 3.

Hi Rebecca,
I have another book club reading Ace of Spades in January. Wanna buddy read?

Hi Serena. I've already started the challenge with another book. Thanks, though!

K | 23 comments I started a Listopia for this. :)

I'm trying to make a list for every Book Riot Prompt.

/list/show/2...

message 17: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (elizabethohara) | 68 comments The detective in The Stranger Diaries by Elly Griffiths is queer. It's a great, gothic mystery read for the fall.

Thank you for making these lists!

message 19: by Rhanda (new)

Rhanda (galsgotmoxie) | 4 comments I think I may read the second of KJ Charles Will Darling Adventures, The Sugared Game, for this one. The first in that series, Slippery Creatures, would also fulfill the prompt.

Great idea! Thank you for the list!

message 21: by Luci (new)

Luci DuRocher (crankpot) | 9 comments If anyone is re-reading Nancy Drew for #2, these are a grown up queer version:
The Case of the Not-So-Nice Nurse

message 22: by Andi-Roo (new)

Andi-Roo Libecap (andrejia) | 9 comments @Luci ... holy moly, this series looks like a romp! Color me curious. I might have to justify throwing away an Audible credit on this because... well... BECAUSE!

I think I have the perfect queer cozy mystery for this challenge on my audiobook queue- Murder in the Dressing Room
I recently listened to Devil's Chew Toy and it fits the bill and was really fun. Didn't listen to the sequel yet. I like to listen to cozy mysteries on long drives :)

Robin (grayeyed) | 68 comments Rebecca wrote: "I'm considering Ace of Spades or Harrow the Ninth."

Would the first book in this series work as well? The Locked Tomb Series: Gideon the Ninth, Harrow the Ninth, Nona the Ninth

message 25: by Robin (new)

Robin (grayeyed) | 68 comments Ok, I think I'm going with Murder Most Actual because it sounds fun!

message 26: by GailW (last edited Jan 20, 2025 07:24PM) (new)

GailW (abbygg) I'm going to read Fortune Favors the Dead by Stephen Spotswood, the first in a series in which a female private detective, recently diagnosed with MS, hires a young female circus run-away who threw knives for a living (Willowjean, who goes by Will.)

message 27: by Teresa (new)

Teresa | 416 comments I'm reading a short story, Blood and Fire by Dharma Kelleher. It's from the Jinx Ballou Bounty Hunter series. It's not on 카지노싸이트.

I think Gideon the Ninth would work. I've already read it and loved it. That's why I'm considering the sequel.

message 29: by Lauraellen (new)

Lauraellen | 40 comments I'm trying to focus on tackling my tbr this year, and it looks like Elatsoe fits the bill. I read A Snake Falls to Earth by the same author (Darcie Little Badger) a while ago and found it very charming. It looks like Elatsoe is technically YA but looks more like middle grade, but with a teen protagonist.

I saw a lot of people say stuff about Elatsoe being more MG than YA, and I disagree strongly. I think there's MG crossover appeal, but it's a YA novel for sure imo. Anyway, it definitely fits. The protagonist is asexual and is solving her cousin's murder.

Ah ok, thank you, yeah I was just going off of the first review I read, so I probably should have looked further! I really enjoyed A Snake Falls to Earth so I'm super keen to read Elatsoe :)

Tanu (tanu_reads) | 57 comments Could someone please explain what a "queer mystery" means? Is it just a mystery with an LGBTQA+ main character? A mystery addressing LGBTQA+ issues? A book where the character's sexuality plays a pivotal role?

Sorry, just confused by the wording here.

Rebecca Huerta | 125 comments Rebecca wrote: "I'm considering Ace of Spades or Harrow the Ninth."

I read Ace of Spades. I loved it! I listened to the audiobook.
