Day 1: +1 point
A 15-year-old girl wakes up in an unfamiliar room, she’s cold and she has no idea where she is, how she got there, or who she even is.

Task 1: Her name is Michelle, find a YA book written by somebody called ‘Michelle’ to remind her.

Day 2: +2 points
She notices a bracelet on her wrist and reads the name Michelle. If only she had a fairy godmother to answer all her other questions.

Task 2: We don't have a Fairy Godmother, but we do have a Bonus Fairy! Comment on the Bonus Fairy Lottery Thread with the phrase 'Fairy Godmother' to earn +2 points. You may even win some points from the Bonus Fairy.

Day 3: +3 points
Michelle looks around the room she is in and by the lack of windows, and the stairs leading upwards, guesses that it must be a basement.

Task 3: Find a book with the word 'basement' anywhere in the book's blurb.

Day 4: +4 points
She starts towards the stairs but notices a rip in her jeans. She looks more closely and sees the word ‘mine’ written on her thigh, she doesn’t know what it means or who wrote it.

She makes it to the top of the stairs, but the door is locked and won’t budge. She looks around for something to help her escape.

She hears a bang above her head and the door at the top of the stairs flies open. A sudden buzzing nose grows louder and louder, and then a swarm of large buzzing insects descends on her.

Task 6: Today you're looking for a specific book, here are some clues to help you search:
- This book is tagged as a middle-grade magical realism.
- It is a standalone book and it was first published in August 2017.
- The main character is called Zinnia and she's in 7th grade.
- Zinnia is having some problems with bees, who think her hair is a hive.
- The background of the cover is honey coloured, with hexagons like a hive. Zinnia's head is upside down from the top of the cover, with red/brown hair and lots of bees.

She runs up the stairs and out the door, only to find herself tripping over enormous, striped, hissing snakes. She runs screaming from the building but finds a hand across her mouth, and her body being dragged against the side of the building.

“Don’t scream! Unless you want something to eat you or worse!” A man with scruffy hair whispers harshly but lets her go, as he peers around the corner of the building.

Michelle is about to ask a question when she suddenly hears something above her, glancing up she sees what can only be a dragon landing on the roof of the building she just left.
The dragon seems to be sniffing around for something, but suddenly Michelle feels a tug on her arm, and is pulled away. “The dragon is blind but you don’t want him to get your scent.”

Michelle follows the man to another building, where a young girl peers at her from inside a cupboard. “This is Pen, my daughter, I’m Toby.” “Michelle”
Pen jumps up and quickly puts all evidence that they were there safely in her bag. Toby moves to help. “What is going on?” Michelle asks.

Task 10: Michelle's world has been turned upside down. Find an edition of any book which has exactly 180 pages.

Toby looks at her quickly before ushering his daughter to get behind him, Michelle notices that Pen has a bow in her hand, and arrows on her back.
“I can only tell you how I got here, I assume the same happened to you, but only you really know that.”

“Did you ever see the film Jumanji?” Michelle nods. “Well, we bought the board game of Jumanji, thinking it was just a game, and while we were playing, my girlfriend and I ended up here.”

Michelle shakes her head. “Are you kidding me?! This isn’t funny!”
Toby shook his head. “Do I look like I’m joking?”
“But if it was the game, why aren’t there more people here?” Michelle squeezed her eyes closed and tried to think.

“The counters.” Toby explained. “My girlfriend Sandy ordered some that looked like the ones in the movie from eBay. Those are the only thing that was different.”
Michelle gasped. She remembered the way the special counters felt in her hand, pleasingly heavy. She’d picked them up in a thrift store for $1. She looked over at Toby. “We had them too.”
