Brandee | 1063 comments Forgot to ask this question - if the letter appears twice (like the E in Sleep) can one book claim both Es or only one?

message 68: by Ashleigh (new)

Ashleigh | 3391 comments Can Action words be found in titles as well? Or just by the letters?

I understand that they can't be found on covers.

message 69: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90655 comments Mod
I believe that if the word is in the title, we will count it, so like Boyfriend Bargain (Hawthorne University, #1) by Ilsa Madden-Mills or Doctor Sleep (The Shining, #2) by Stephen King ☺ The whole word is there so it would count ☺

Brandee wrote: "Forgot to ask this question - if the letter appears twice (like the E in Sleep) can one book claim both Es or only one?"

I think it would be one book per letter, so you would need 2 'E' books if there are 2 E's in the word. I will double check with Danique though ☺

Brandee wrote: "Forgot to ask this question - if the letter appears twice (like the E in Sleep) can one book claim both Es or only one?"

Indeed just one! As the rules say:
"You can only claim a letter once per book. For example, you’ve read A Deadly Education and want to claim the ‘N’ in the word ‘Penguin’. This will not count for both N’s, just for one! So, it would be noted as follows:
Penguin___|__**N****___________|______"

Hope that clears it up! :)

If a word is fully (in the right order) in the title, you can claim it :) Actions might be harder to find, but if you find a book with an action in the title, you can claim it!

We've discussed it, and we will not count a unicorn as a horse, because it's a mythical creature & thus not the same. Sorry, hope that makes sense! :)

I'd say the second one counts for mirror whereas the first looks like a frame to me

Krystal wrote: "For skating, do they have to be in motion or can they be on ice, in ice skates?"

Hi Krystal, Skating has to be an action, so only if someone is skating (and thus moving) on the cover, would it count. Or if the word skating is in the title of course

Hi Brianna, so sorry it took so long to get back to you! I spoke with the other Mods on this, and we decided that she shoes looked more like sandals than flipflops so they woudn't count for that word.
