What a bummer they removed that loaning option. At least I know now. Thanks for replying!
No loaning is the worst thing about ebooks/audiobooks. When you are done, you can't easily pass them on. I do download the Audible books to my computer (because I want to put them on a tiny iPod rather than a bulky phone), and then I have them, but anyone interested would have to come to my house or I would have to put it on a drive and that is more work than just passing on a physical book. I also can't donate it to a library or other program when I am done.
In theory, if you haven't downloaded a book from Amazon/Audible, it could disappear if they change their licensing agreements.
