The Joe Leaphorn Mysteries: The Blessing Way / Dance Hall of the Dead / Listening Woman (Navajo Mysteries, #1-3)
Tony Hillerman: The Leaphorn & Chee Novels: Skinwalkers, A Thief of Time, Coyote Waits
and so on.
Do you have to read the anthologies? Or can you read the component books individually, even if they're not listed individually?

Aw shucks, I had not anticipated this question. It's a good one. I'll have to ask the mods, and I'll get back to you shortly.

Hi again, Trish,
DLMRose has reminded me to address the FAQ's. On this topic, they have this to say:
"I. If a task requires me to read a book on a list, do I have to read the exact format or edition that’s on the list? For the Group Reads books, do I have to read the exact format or edition linked in the task?
No. When you have to read a book from a list, or for a Group Reads, you can read any format (audiobook, ebook, paperback, hardback) and any edition you choose. If the entry on a list is a box set, you cannot substitute an individual book from the set, and if the book on the list is in a series, you cannot substitute a different book in the series."
So I guess the answer to your question has to be no. There are many Tony Hillerman's on the list. Perhaps you can substitute one of the others? (Though I know all too well the frustration of trying to place that one book that you really want to read right now.)

Thanks for checking. I'll have to come up with plan B (which might be Fire Season!)

If it helps, I noticed that the first book in each of those omnibus editions is on the list separately.

Thanks. Trouble is, I've got separate paper copies of the first three of each of the Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee sets. I've read the Blessing Way - so Dance Hall of the Dead would have been good, but I don't think it's on there on its own. And the first three Jim Chee books are in an omnibus again.

Thanks for the info! Also, this book has the genre "environment" so it will also work for 10.3!

I'm going to confer with the mods again. I'm all for it, but I may have to change some wording in the task.

Wanda,
The wording of the task has now been changed, and you are good to go with "Peacemaker" in the title.

I am so glad Victoria!

Yup.

Option 2: Losing the Peace by William Leisner

For my option 3 book, Informed Risk by Robyn Carr wasn't available in kindle edition. But it was available in an anthology: Informed Risk / A Hero for Sophie Jones. Can I still use the book as long as I finish the whole book/ both stories? or should I choose something else?

This Works.

For my option 3 book, Informed Risk by Robyn Carr wasn't available in kindle edition. But it was available in an anthology: Informed Risk / A Hero for Sophie Jones
Here is the General Rule:
"11. Books identified as an "omnibus" (a volume of reprinted works of a single author or of related works), as a "bundle" (a digital collection of works of a single author or of related works) or as collected works (The Complete .... , anthologies, etc.) may be isolated into component parts and read separately as long as the isolated work has been published separately and meets the minimum page requirements.
The Harry Bosch Novels: The Black Echo / The Black Ice / The Concrete Blonde contains 3 independently published titles: The Black Echo, The Black Ice, The Concrete Blonde. These titles in this omnibus may be read as separate books. "
Since your book, Informed Risk, exists as a separate book with acceptable minimum page requirements, you may read it within this anthology. I would state this and link to the separate in your post.

Double checking to see if Citizen: An American Lyric works (it contains the word "Lyric" in the subtitle, which has a "Y" in the word) for Option 1.
This is my first time using something marked as poetry for a 25 point task, so I want to make sure it fills all the requirements. The copy I am reading (paperback) is 198 pages, so it's over 100 pages and I didn't see a page requirement on your task.
Thank you!

You are OK on everything. Poetry works as long as it's over 100 pages. "Lyric" as a word in the subtitle works because it contains a "Y."

For this challenge, the letter “Y” means “Yggdrasil,” the great World Ash Tree, not only because it is the first letter of the word, but because of “Y’s” tree-like shape, and the fact that in Norse mythology the Ash Tree was the source of letters (Runes) in the first place. Today, the shape of “Y” can be inverted and, with a short line added, turned into a Peace Sign. What a dyverse letter!
Here are some options for this task. Please choose two different options and read 1 book for each. Each book must meet all SRC requirements:
Required: Tell which Options you choose.
Option 1. Read a book with the letter “Y” somewhere in the title or subtitle.
Option 2. Read a book with “peace” found intact in a word in the title or subtitle, OR a book from the Popular Peace Books list. Please limit your choices to the first 200.
Required: Tell us on which page (1,2,3, or 4) your choice falls and the date you accessed it
Option 3. “Y” means “Yggdrasil” the Great Ash Tree, which means wood, which means fuel for the fire --- which brings me to one of my favorite books I have read since joining the SRC: Fire Season: Field Notes from a Wilderness Lookout by Philip Connors. For option 3, you may read Fire Season, or you may read Philip Connors’ newest book, released in Feb. 2015, All the Wrong Places: A Life Lost and Found
OR
you may read any book from one of the following Listopias upon which Fire Season falls. Note: Fire Season falls on a lot of listopias, but only these four will work for this task:
Books Set in New Mexico
Real Man Books
Banff Mountain Book Festival Award Winners
Firefighters
Required: Tell which Listopia you picked and what number on the listopia your choice falls.
Since “Y” has only three spokes, I am giving only three options. Ynjoy!
