Tim (tlittlefield) | 1448 comments I just finished The Secret Place (Dublin Murder Squad #5) by Tana French . Out of the series so far it was my least favorite. In comparison to the others it’s movement seemed to linear. It’s flash back sequences have a different dimension but one I didn’t care for. Don’t get me wrong I still enjoyed the character building just not like the others in the series.
Now I’m starting The Trespasser (Dublin Murder Squad #6) by Tana French to finish the series.

Three grown brothers are cattle ranchers in the Australian outback, a hard life in a blistering hot environment. When one brother dies in peculiar circumstances, all kinds of secrets come to light. Pretty good mystery with excellent descriptions of the outback. 3 stars

Bill I just finished Wycliffe and the Guild of Nine, the last Wycliffe mystery, by W.J. Burley. It's the last in the series but I'm lucky that I haven't read them in order. Excellent mystery series.

About to start one of the Quiller spy series, The Tango Briefing by Adam Hall.

In this addition to the series, the cop and FBI agent try to help a victim of sex trafficking. The book can be read as a standalone. Good thriller but it gets a little repetitive.

Yes, THE Alfred Hitchcock and his (actual) wife Alma get involved in a spy/murder case in the 1930's. Some similarities to the Toby Peters series by Stuart Kaminsky although the Kaminsky books are much more lighthearted with a lot of humor. This is the first of the Baxt series I've read and I'll definitely read more. It's done as a straight ahead mystery, not as a joke, but very well done. I liked it a lot.
