My next read is

Three grown brothers are cattle ranchers in the Australian outback, a hard life in a blistering hot environment. When one brother dies in peculiar circumstances, all kinds of secrets come to light. Pretty good mystery with excellent descriptions of the outback. 3 stars

About to start one of the Quiller spy series, The Tango Briefing by Adam Hall.

In this addition to the series, the cop and FBI agent try to help a victim of sex trafficking. The book can be read as a standalone. Good thriller but it gets a little repetitive.

Currently Reading : The Forty Rules Of Love by Elif Shafak

Private investigator Jones Cooper gets help from a psychic when he investigates the disappearance of a little girl. Interesting premise but slow delivery. 2.5 stars

Yes, THE Alfred Hitchcock and his (actual) wife Alma get involved in a spy/murder case in the 1930's. Some similarities to the Toby Peters series by Stuart Kaminsky although the Kaminsky books are much more lighthearted with a lot of humor. This is the first of the Baxt series I've read and I'll definitely read more. It's done as a straight ahead mystery, not as a joke, but very well done. I liked it a lot.

Now I am going to start You by Caroline Kepnes

When the girlfriend of a high school football star is murdered, old secrets come to light. Very good mystery. 4 stars

I read the The Mae West Murder Case and have The Dorothy Parker Murder Case sitting on my shelf somewhere. I think it is a fun series … not very serious. But entertaining.

I enjoyed this book but felt it was the weaker of the 4 current books

My review, 4 stars /review/show...
recommended to Raymond Chandler fans

Just finished listening to

This is the 2nd in the Butch Karp series, actually written by MICHAEL GRUBER. Mr. Gruber write many of the books credited to Tanenbaum as well as several under his own name. I recommend his work wholeheartedly.

When a 19-year-old girl goes missing from a small town and a war hero is allegedly implicated all kinds of hell breaks loose. Good story. 3 stars

Joe Thorne is returning to his home town after an absence of 25 years to settle some scores. The place is run down and super creepy....and Joe better watch his back. 🤔 Good thriller but a bit too slow for my taste. 3 stars
