I’ve seen both Scribd and Audible as highly rated services, but as someone interested in subscribing to one, I’m curious: which is better, and why? Audible is more expensive, but is it worth it? I’m someone who loves fantasy, urban fantasy, sometimes paranormal, and am getting into adult fiction/thrillers, if that will affect which service will best fit me.

I use overdrive for audiobooks. It's free and all you need is a library card to log in. Highly recommend. Their selection is obviously not as big as a service like audible but they still have a lot of options, even including some new releases.

I have subscribed to both in the past and I find both services to be so similar that the only thing I could see to determine the difference is the available library. Audible seems to have pretty much everything and when I was a member of Scribd they didn't have as much but were building daily. I'm also not sure you can purchase additional credits with Scribd so if you listen to more than one book a month this may be an issue.

I currently use Overdrive and Hoopla Digital for my audiobooks through my local library as they are both free and allow me to listen to multiple books a month.

I also use Overdrive/Libby for audiobooks, but if I could pay a small amount a month to listen to an audiobook immediately, I'd prefer that, y'know?

Scribd switched to a Netflix-like library, where it's infinite books you can read/listen to, rather than a credit-based system like Audible. Just wondering if Audible is worth the money for selection/ease, y'know?

They did?! That's great. That is how they started out. I canceled my account when they went to the credit based system.
