How did you feel about Barzun's characterization of Napoleon sarting on page 483 with "It was the will to take heroic risks that settled the place of Napoleon in the imagination of artists and peoples ..and goes through p. 485?
Reading this part really piqued my interest in reading more on him. Of course, I know the basic outline of his life but only on a superficial level. Perhaps we could add a book on him to our future reading list. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I think he seems to glorify all things French; but that is just MHO. I will look to see what books might be interesting regarding Napoleon.
Another observation...he seems to deglorify anything American. (smile)
Possibly others might have some suggestions; any suggestions regarding books on Napoleon that have been found to be worthwhile?
