Jennifer,

- Copy the blank list from here: /topic/show/...

- Click 'new' at the top of the list on the home page, to the right of 'Mod Corner'

- Give a name to your personal tread, paste the plan in the larger box, add your books however you want, and choose '2017 Plans' as your folder

Emily Rabecca (northernbellebookworm) Hi my name is Emily! I came across this group by accident! I love challenges, and I can't wait to do the 2017 ones!!

message 354: by Melanie (new)

Melanie Welcome Emily, I think you will love it here.

message 355: by Jessica (last edited Dec 26, 2016 10:10PM) (new)

Jessica (jesbee) Hi I'm jessica! I have been wanting to do a challenge for a few years now. Came across this one while browsing 카지노싸이트 and I liked it best of the ones I saw.

2015 & 2016 were "slow" years for me. Returning to work after being a SAHM and then getting pregnant with baby #2 really ruined my motivation and desire to read.

This year I read only 5 books from January to September!! But got my "mojo" back in October and have read 23 books between October and now!!

I'm trying to keep this momentum going and having this group and challenge will hopefully help. I had already wanted to challenge myself to start clearing out my TBR list of the books I added when I first joined back in early 2011. So in making my plan for 2017 I tried to pick books from the very beginning of my TBR list. I'm very excited to get to those books finally!

I am not the fastest reader but my biggest year was 75 books. So I'm semi positive I'll be able to manage 52.

I'm on my phone 98% of the time so joining in on the group posts are hard as a real computer is so much easier for me. But my computer is currently broken and my laptop is snail-speed slow. So phone it is.

I think I might need to get out the laptop though to post my book plan for 2017 if I want to add my book links. I'll try to get that done.

Happy Reading everyone!! Glad to have found this group :)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments Welcome Jessica! I'm also often on my phone or ipad, but what I do is access GoodReads from the browser to have all the features of the website. The app is really not that good!

I hope it helps, welcome to you and Emily to our group!

message 360: by Katie (new)

Katie | 2360 comments I'm so excited to see all these new people who stumbled upon this group and decided to join. I hope you love it as much as we do!

message 361: by Federica (new)

Federica Rodi | 1 comments Ciao, I'm Federica and I'm italian. This is the first year (and the first time ever) I try a book challenge. I'm normally an avid reader but I tend to hold on the same genre. The book challenge is an intriguing way to discover something new and really far from my usual interest, I was perusing the list for 2017 and it sounds to me like a treasure hunt!! I need to do a (r)evolution so..here I am :)
And for the challenge I'll read a couple of books in my mother language

message 362: by Krista (new)

Krista Hi All! I'm Krista, right in the middle of the States in the greater Kansas City area. I'm new to this particular challenge. I discovered Book Riot's Read Harder challenges in January 2016. Ended up doing both the 2015 and 2016 challenges this year. I'm going to do their 2017 challenge as well, but only 24 books seemed too easy.

I got out of the habit of reading after my son was born (no time, other than audiobooks on the commute, <10 books a year). In 2013 my husband gifted me with a Kindle and I read 25 books. This year I'm at 56 so far (and might finish one more). I took a look at the Popsugar challenge (which many of Read Harder folks had mentioned) and also saw this one (both 52 books). Frankly after looking at the lists, I like your group of topics for 2017 better. So here I am! Hopefully in the next few days I'll figure out how you all post things (the A-Z folders and rules on Progress Posts are new to me).

Katie | 2360 comments Welcome Federica and Krista!

Krista, I recommend taking a look at our Questions page. It gives a great introduction to most parts of our group.

Vanessa (effoff_imreading) | 26 comments Hello!!
I'm Vanessa. I'm an avid bibliophile that stumbled across this page looking for reading challenges. This is my first time actively participating in 카지노싸이트 groups and first time doing a reading challenge. I'm very excited for the 2017 reading challenge! :)

message 365: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) Welcome, all!!

message 366: by Beth (new)

Beth (ebierworth) Hi, my name is Beth from Northern Ontario and I just joined this group for the 2017 challenge. I read a ton of books but usually stick to my go to genres so I am looking forward to trying something new.
This is also my first GR group...I've basically just been using the site since this summer to track my reading.

message 367: by Tina (new)

Tina Hi, I'm Tina. I have been hearing a lot about this challenge in 2016 and since the year is coming to an end and new one is just beginning I figured this is a perfect time to join in the fun.

I read a lot of fantasy and YA, but will be trying to read more of the other genres this year as well.

Anna | 1007 comments Welcome to the group, Angela, Beth and Tina!

message 369: by Lee Anne (new)

Lee Anne (ladyofrohan2995) | 4 comments Hi all! My name is Lee Anne, and I'm a teen services librarian in Missouri. I've been a classroom teacher for the last five years, so I've been reading a lot of classics (read The Odyssey three times in the last five years--ready to move on!), but now I'm trying to catch up on all the YA that's been piling up on my tbr shelf.

I used to read lots of book, and I'm hoping to pick up that speed again. I'll be reading most young adult books and fantasy, but I may try to read a few classics, too, so I don't get too rusty.

message 370: by DeeAnna (new)

DeeAnna 'Thomas' Chambers (godkptme) | 9 comments Hello,
My name is DeeAnna but I prefer to go by Dee. I am hoping to keep up in this group as one of my life goals is to read more. I never liked to read as a child but now that I am older and in college I find reading to be a great way to escape my day to day routines. I also like that I am setting a great example for my children as I encourage them to read. I look forward to being an active participant of this group and meeting the goals and challenges I set for myself. I hope to make many friends here as well.

message 371: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments Welcome Lee Anne and Dee!

message 372: by Sara (new)

Sara | 83 comments Hello! I'm Sara and the group was recommended to me, so I decided to join this year. Usually I read comic books and fantasy.

message 373: by Zelená (new)

Zelená Hrášeková | 2 comments Hello! I joined this group looking forward to keep my new year's resolution of reading 52 books in 2017, and maybe make friends on the way. :)

message 374: by E (new)

E (e_e_) | 2 comments Hi, everyone! I'm Elizabeth, AKA nevillegirl. I'm a sophomore double-majoring in English & creative writing and journalism at the University of Iowa, although I am originally from Indiana. This is my first year doing the Around the Year in 52 Books challenge and I'm so excited for it! 2014 was a GREAT year for me, reading-wise, but the last 2? Not so much. So I want to get back on track in 2017! Let's hope this gives me the motivation to Get Things Done and read despite my depression.

message 375: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments Welcome Sara, Zelena, Brandi and Elizabeth! I hope this challenge is going to help you read more and discover great books! :)

message 376: by Ann (new)

Ann (engel-ish) Hi! I'm Ann, and I'm a high school English as a Second Language teacher in Ohio. I've set a 52 book 카지노싸이트 Challenge goal for several years and have never quite met it. I'm sure having smaller, weekly goals is the key! I'm also really looking forward to making my TBR list even longer than it already is from all of your recommendations. Happy New Year!

message 377: by Katie (new)

Katie | 2360 comments I'm so excited by all the new members for the new year. Welcome all!

message 378: by Manisha (new)

Manisha | 1 comments Hi, I am Manisha from Australia. I love to read but have never tried a book club or a group so this is a first....

My interests range from classics (who can resist Jane Austen?) to crime fiction and all the way to poetry!

Looking forward to the 2017 reading challenge although I think I will struggle to read a book a week.

Welcome!! Sometimes you can manage to fit in shorter ones, and it isn't an expectation that you have to finish. We just want to finish! :)

message 380: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 27 comments Hi! I'm Jessica from the West Coast (USA). I'm probably one of the younger members as I'm a junior in high school. I absolutely love to read though, and I frequently have 4-5 books that I'm reading between school, spanish, and pleasure. I've never done a challenge like this, but I think it'll motivate me to actually push myself out of my comfort zone and read more :) (always a good thing).
I'm trying to figure out my spot in genres, but I enjoy mysteries, fantasy, crime-fiction and classics.
Hopefully I'll keep up to the schedule!

message 381: by Moni (new)

Moni (monidzib) Hi! I'm Moni from Mexico. This is my fisrt time doing a reading challenge we'll see how it goes.
I like historical fiction and fantasy, but this year I want to start reading more non-fiction.
Good reading year for everyone! :)

message 382: by Charli (new)

Charli (charlithebookprincess) (charlithebookprincess) | 1 comments Hi! My name is Charli and I live in Austin, Texas. I am 23 years old and attending grad school to be an elementary school teacher. This is my first yearly challenge to participate in and I am really excited about it! I read 200 books last year and I am hoping to hit that goal again this year, but I am starting with 100. I will read pretty much anything, but my favorite genres are fantasy, sic-fi, romance, paranormal, and both YA and NA. I have also become a huge bookstagrammer these past couple months so that is kind of what opened me up to participating in a reading challenge this year to discuss books with various people.

message 383: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments Welcome Ann, Manisha, Jessica, Moni and Charli, I hope you'll like it here!

Charli, I love bookstagram, what is your name there?

message 384: by bamaace83 (new)

bamaace83 | 47 comments Hi my name is Anna. I made a New Years resolution to get back into reading. I have been in several reading challenges in the past and I know it helps me deal with the stress of every day life. I usually read Romance, Fiction, and Thriller/Mystery but I'm open to reading anything and everything. I've already branched out this year and read a book I normally wouldn't have read. I'm looking forward to seeing where this year of reading takes my brain! Nice to meet everyone.

message 385: by Emma (new)

Emma (factandfable) | 182 comments Hi! I'm Emma. I am in graduate school at the moment, but I graduate in March and I want to keep myself accountable and keep reading during that transition. I love reading, and have had a hard time staying motivated to read while I have been in school, especially when it comes to fiction.

My favorite fiction books are books that look at important events through the eyes of compelling, richly developed characters. My favorite non fiction books are books that tell a good narrative story and introduce me to new ideas.

I also love knitting, cooking, baking, and being outside!

message 386: by Nubia (new)

Nubia | 58 comments Hi! My name is Nubia and this is my first time participating, I really want to read 52 books but let's see what happens (:

message 387: by Cherie (new)

Cherie Hello! I'm Cherie, I joined in 2015 but wasn't active on GR last year. I'm super excited for the yearlong challenge! I want to read 200 books this year (I know, what am I thinking?!) so this should certainly help!

message 388: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Anderson (miss5elements) | 331 comments Hello everyone,

I have to bow out of this year's challenge. I no longer have the time to do one book/week, so I'll leave it to all of you professional readers.

I love this group & will be hanging around to see how you're all doing. Good luck in exceeding your reading goals everyone!

And the Alphabetical Categories thread - I'll keep forever!!

message 389: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments Tiffany, it's a shame when life comes in the way of reading, but sadly we sometimes can't do much about it. However, you could still stay with us and try to complete half the challenge, or your 20 or even 10 favorite prompts! We won't judge, promise ;)

message 390: by Joan (new)

Joan Barnett | 1972 comments Hello,
My name is Joan and I typically read 40-45 books a year so this will be a little bit of a stretch for me but am looking forward to the challenge. I'm also looking forward to having a plan for my books this year. I'm 47 and read literary fiction, suspense novels, romance, short stories, young adult, business books and non-fiction books. I've recently been trying to catch up in the classics that I haven't read before and trying to incorporate at least 5-10 classics this year.

message 391: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Audiogirl.booking.it (audiogirlbookingit) | 488 comments I wanted to post my plan for my books and it says i can't because i haven't verified my email?? i didn't get a request to do that.... Also I had made the shelf and tried to link it but it is not showing the two books that i have finished. i am super new to all of this sorry to be a bother just wondering what i am doing wrong???

message 392: by Zaz (last edited Jan 07, 2017 12:07AM) (new)

Zaz | 2969 comments Kelly > think about using the help topic rather than this one which is for introductions.

For the verified email: /help/show/2...

For the "counted as read", the content of your shelf seems fine, same for the "date read" so it's a cache problem (coming from 카지노싸이트) or a shelf name problem on the progress bar. Check the help topic, several members had problems with the bar, you can try the various options to enter the shelf name: /topic/show/...

message 393: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Audiogirl.booking.it (audiogirlbookingit) | 488 comments Thanks!!! Got it verified!! ;)

message 394: by Jackie (new)

Jackie | 18 comments Hi, I am Jackie and I am from Ontario, Canada. I have never been part of an online reading group , so was very excited to find this. I love to read and will read from almost any genre. I am looking forward to seeing and hearing about other books and peoples views of them. I think the 52 books is doable.......fingers crossed.

message 395: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (mountainmel) Hi everyone! My name is Mel and I live in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Love this group, even though a book a week is a bit ambitious for me. I would normally do 1-2 books a months, but I'm excited about the challenge. Good luck and have fun everyone!

message 396: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments Welcome to our 2 new Ontarians ;)

Melanie, you can definitely choose your 20 best categories to read first and who knows, maybe the challenge will give you momentum to read more this year!

message 397: by Lisarenea (new)

Lisarenea | 3 comments Hello everyone! My name is Lisa. I'm an avid reader and librarian just looking for good book suggestions and discussions. I like the idea of a challenge to keep interest throughout the year. This is my first attempt to participate in an online book group, so still trying to figure out all the ins and outs but looking forward to getting to know everyone and reading some great books!

message 398: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) Welcome all!

message 399: by AmyMK (new)

AmyMK Kuhlman | 2 comments Hello everyone! My name is Amy and I live in Wisconsin.

Looking forward to giving myself a challenge to keep myself reading regularly. I'll read anything that looks good, but I tend to stay away from depressing reads-I like to feel happy after I've finished a book:) Looking forward to getting new suggestions for books/authors!
