Welcome, or welcome back, Amy! Feel free to use the same books for both challenges. Many of us have outside challenges and many of us try every year to reduce our huge TBR, though strangely it tends to grow back!

Sad to see you go! If you go to the group's homepage, there's a link that says Edit Membership at the top under the opening.

I read a lot of non-fiction, as I have a passion for learning things & how to become a better human.
Welcome, Richard! It’s not too late to join our 2024 challenge with 52 prompts. You can count anything you read since January 1. Also check out our seasonal challenges. And in about a month we will start the crazy, months-long process of nominating and voting for next year’s prompts.

That's ok, I like a challenge. I'll start from today. :)

I live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and work in the aviation security industry. I grew up reading Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys mysteries, then spent my teen years reading historical romances.
These days, I'm into crime/mysteries, thrillers, young adult, fantasy, sci-fi, horror, comedies, and literary fiction. It all depends on my mood, of course. Looking forward to connecting with you all.

This is my first book challenge to join on 카지노싸이트, so if anyone has tips/feedback to how to navigate everything, I am open to them.

Welcome! You can count anything you read since Jan 1, no matter why you read it (or in what format - print/ebook/audio. And of course you can choose to do only half the prompts, or whatever you like. Some challenge groups are very strict, with moderators who judge whether your book matches the task. We are not like that at all. At ATY, the rule is "if you say it fits, it fits!"
Do you narrate audiobooks or video, documentaries, etc? Professional narrators are some of my favorite people!

Great! I am going through the list of prompts and trying to think back to what all I've read this year. Is the spreadsheet where we mark off once it is complete? If so, that's good, because there are some fanfics I've read to my kids this year that are definitely not going to be on 카지노싸이트. Also, when do we add items to the lists? Is it when we decide that is the book we will be reading for a specific challenge, after we've completed reading it, or do we add anything we think might be a good fit for others? I didn't see anything in the FAQ about that.

Official narrating is actually pretty new for me, but I've done related work in audio engineering for awhile and have been my family's unofficial audiobook for car trips for years. This year, I started narrating audiobooks -- mostly sci-fi/fantasy. It's a blast (especially when you get a great book), but it's also very time intensive.

Hi C-A,
the spreadsheet is for books you've completed.
But you can create your own list in the folder to track both completed books and planned. I like to use italics for books I'm planning then boldface when I finish on my list so I have a quick reference . Then when I'm done reading it I also add it to the spreadsheet.
You can add books to the lists if it fits! No need to wait until you've read it (unless you aren't sure if it fits or not until after you've read it lol).
The spreadsheet is there for people to track what they've already crossed off for the challenge (or to plan for next year), or you can do like Denise mentioned and start a thread in our 2024 Plans folder.
There's no one tracking your challenge but you, though we do have a completion thread where you can post once you're finished so we can all celebrate with you! (Even if you completed half of the challenge -- we will celebrate you meeting whatever goal you set for yourself.)

Yes, as Emily says, the spreadsheet is optional. If you choose to use it, note it is divided into 3 sections of the alphabet. It automatically saves changes, so we always have to be sure we are in the right column so as not to affect anyone else's info.

Perfect that you joined at this moment, as we are discussing and voting on a prompt for next year related to the name Alice. Welcome!

I’m trying every day to be kind to the world we live in and wish to read about those things that touch the world we live in. I don’t do paranormal, sci-fi, romance, fantasy, role-play, etc: you get the picture.
I'm not an eco-zealot. I'm not at all interested in screaming and shouting about what's wrong, whilst throwing litter all over the place and running off. A few years back, I spent the day listening to Greta Thunberg, when she left so did the crowd: a sea of litter was left behind. From that day on, I've lived a simple life: reuse, repair, recycle. I grow my own. I use solar power whenever possible. I don't buy new clothes. I don't use make-up. I cycle everywhere. I'm self-employed and work making and repairing clothes: mostly for the little ones. Take an old coat, clean it and sew a few flowers on: like magic, it's new and can be sold at the farmer's market. I don't buy new books. I use the library or buy second-hand from the market. My table is next to the bookman's and we get on like a house on fire. And just like my grandparents did, who both kept their wits and lived to a fine old-age, I don't do heating. I do an extra jumper.

I'm heading south as soon as I can. I've stopped going out in the evenings: where I'm living, it's not safe.
Books are where I'll be for the foreseeable. Making friends would be good for me.
Hi, I’m Isabella. Robin mentioned the group in my Play Book Tag group and I immediately had to head over and join.
Looking forward to joining in the discussions.

Hi Isabella, I joined PBT because of hearing about it from Book Concierge here on ATY. There are a number of overlapping members. I noticed we weren't yet GR friends, but we are 85% similar in our book preferences, which is very high! I sent you a friend request.

To Isabella and any of our new members - feel free to jump into any of our games and challenges. We have a Read-a-thon starting Saturday, which you can sign up for. (Teams try to read books to fit certain categories, a good way to jumpstart your reading.)
We have a seasonal reading challenge for fall. And it's not too late to participate in our 2024 ATY. You can count anything you've read since Jan 1, and you will be surprised how many of them will fit a category. Also you can participate in our crazy democratic process for choosing next year's prompts!

I'm always looking for a good book challenge to expand my reading.
This past year or two I've focused on reading more "In Translation" and books from all over the world. I've also attempted to read more outside of my go-to genres (which are Non-Fiction, Literary Fiction and Historical Fiction).
Looking forward to joining in the 52 challenge this upcoming new year :)

Great! Any amount you read is fine, and this is very flexible challenge. You can read a children's book, for instance. And if you are stuck on any particular prompt, we have threads with ideas. Plus, in ATY, if you say it fits, it fits. "Creative" interpretations aren't a problem. There is no scorekeeping or prize, so it's always up to you how much to read. Feel free to join any of our games, discussions, or activities. And great news that your health has improved!

Thanks, Robin!

Not exactly sure where I am suppose to put my link. I just copied and pasted in the comment section at the bottom of the 2025 prompt page. Hope that was correct.
Wishing all a very Merry Christmas.
Welcome Michele!

I'm Alistair. I've been an avid reader all my life to the point where I got my degree in English. Currently, I'm on an audiobook kick so that I can read and actually get things done at the same time. (Shocking, I know.) If you were talking to a younger me, I'd have said that my main genre is "classics." Books that have withstood the test of time or aged like a fine wine. Books that teach a valuable lesson about the human experience. Books that make me look smarter because I've read them.
Now, I don't care as much. Will I finish all the Great Books in my lifetime? Likely not. Will I give myself less of a headache if I stop focusing on Great Books and instead on what I actually like? I believe so. I like most things that are sweet or humorous or a bit of both. I have a fascination with fairy tales and mythology. As for more traditional genres, most of my favorite books are fantasies, humor, Queer, or some combination of all three. I'm also on the hunt for soft, sweet romances.

Welcome, Melanie! You will add a lot of books to your TBR in this group! I am also an audiobook fan who enjoys multiple genres.
