I liked these books I read over the weekend. Deadly Redemption was a good fae book, one of the better Nocturnes I've read. It's a marriage of convenience between two warring fae clans story, with strong "worth of women" overtones.

Hidden was about a genetically enhanced woman trying to fix a plague somebody made out of her genes. Liked it too.

Dead and Gone. Hmm. I liked it while I was reading it. I feel now that a few ends were left dangling, but I still liked it.

Still reading historicals. I'm kind of saving up my PNR books for my "time off" the rest of this week. I'm going out of town, and intend to spend Most of the time getting the 3rd book in my blood magic series written. My summer has been nothing but interruptions so far. sigh.

Night rising was OK. I will probobly read the next in the series. Like the plot set up, and charicters. The writing was choppy and hard to read, but liked the idea of a stuntwoman vamp hunter working with a tech chick and psychic midget, all mired in hollywood.

Sigh, I'm half way through my Immortals one (Eternal Pleasures by Nina Bangs) and I just can NOT get into it. PLUS I got a new sewing machine today (new embroidery machine) and IT'S also calling my name. :o) I need to get these last 3 books knocked out so that I can devote myself to learning my new machine and then having some fun with it. I thought Grimspace was "just ok". Although I found myself interested enough to want to keep reading, it was a struggle for me to finish this one. There were some funny moments, and some really frustrating ones. The main character kept blaming herself for everything, as did some of the other lead characters. This continued throughout the entire story, and it just got old. I understand the concept of survivors guilt, but she started to blame herself for other things that could've been avoided had someone taken the opportunity to fill her in on things. However, I really liked the way the author didn't make Jax invincible, and that she was honest about her limitations.

Well, I FINALLY managed to get through my Immortals one. I really wasn't in the mood to read it, and I'm not really in the mood to read my last 2 either. I want to PLAY WITH MY NEW TOY. (clearing throat embarrassedly) Sorry, but I want the time to do some exploring with my new sewing machine. I want to have fun, fun, fun with it. And I can't figure out how to put a sewing machine manual into any of these categories. (any ideas anyone??) :o)

Well, now to try to finish off the other 2. The horrible thing is--I'd really been looking forward to these last 3 books a lot. Well, I'll be back in the mood a bit after tomorrow night probably. I have my first class in how to use it then. So I won't be quite as antsy about it then.

lol, I AM going to have fun. One of Oz's friends is getting married in Sept. So I'm getting ready to make her a bag for carrying around "wedding stuff" with her. ITs a dressy gingham in green and white (her 2 fav colours) and I'm going to embroider a frog prince sitting on a lily pad on the front and I think on the back some froggie musicians in formal wear. :o) Then, since she's getting a cute little step-daughter out of the marriage, I'm going to make an identical one--only smaller--for the step-daughter and not put the crown on the froggie on the lily pad or the musicians on it. Doesn't that sound really cute?

Well, that's 8 down now. While technically a mystery, this also included--witches, psychics, ghosts, an insane killer and a heroine torn between 2 men--but finally (we can all hope) deciding on which one was the right one for her


Tonight's class on my new toy was "the care and feeding of your new pet." :oP Next weeks class will be on general sewing with the machine and using the built in (about 500) stitches. Then the week after that will be actually using the embroidery unit and the software that comes with it. That's when the FUN really starts.

the last one I read was Where there's a witch--its book 5 in the series. A really good, fun series even tho you mostly read it for the characters in it, rather than the mystery. Its not quite a cozy, but near enough
