Thanks, Michael and Brenda. I've TBR'ed a few interesting reads there!
Would you look at that Michael..we both did that at the same time!!!
Glad you have a few there Tanvi!

Oh, I adore the first book; I'll give Silver Brumby's Daughter a try. Thanks for the suggestion!

A few weeks ago I read and really loved The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I just noticed it was 2nd on the list Michael linked to above.
Another Australian favourite of mine is Jessica by Bryce Courtenay. I read it years ago when it first came out, and think I might need to read it again. His book about his son, April Fool's Day, was great too

and Jessica and April Fool's Day both by Bryce Courtenay
I've read all three of those Natasha, and I have to agree they are all great books! Thanks for linking too:)
I'm sure you will! There's a thread with all the tips and hints for how to navigate the site here http://www.africa-eu.com/topic/show/1... and another one here http://www.africa-eu.com/topic/show/3...

As part of my personal reading challenge for 2013 I've decided to make a concerted effort to read more, and to branch out from my usual YA and kids' fantasy. Can anyone rec some Aussie classics other than Seven Little Australians and My Brilliant Career?
I've read and lovedThe Harp In The South (not too keen on the sequel, though), and a couple of her other books. I plan to read Swords And Crowns And Rings for the challenge.
Many thanks! :)
