really liked it

This was my first time reading IT, having already seen both film adaptations. And the first thing I had to say upon ending was, WTH?!? There are events in this book that are so far removed from the filmic adaptations, they can seem like very different stories. The ending alone is stranger, more cosmic, and at times uncomfortable, than I could have imagined. All in all though, this was still an enjoyable read—even if the bones of the larger plot were already known to me. It is a coming of age story as much about the pangs and memories of childhood—as it is pure, raw, primeval terror. Like most of King’s books it is in-depth in characterization and there are many, many moving parts. But it delivers in the end and proves why King’s imagination remains unrivaled.

Brittany McCann Yes I don't understand some of those cinematic changes. DId you read and watch The Shining? The movie did things that didn't make sense with the second book especially the ending

Christine B. I read this for the first time when I was about the age of the child protagonists and then again while in grad school when I was about the age of the adults the kids had become. It was a weirdass shift of perception.
