This is a good "starter" trail guide for new hikers in Vermont. It gives a good cross-section of hikes throughout the state of Vermont and across all difficulty ratings. If you are new to hiking (and new to Vermont) then this is the perfect book for you.
That said, if you are a more experienced hiker, you are going to outgrow these 50 hikes very quickly. In that case, I would recommend the Green Mountain Club's Day Hiker's Guide instead.
