She seems to have an astonishing knack for making fairly uninteresting characters interesting, which might be why she called her last novel Normal People.
I learned yesterday that she's going through a religious renaissance which might explain the ending, which I found a little too neat, but why not?
I do occasionally wonder why she has become the voice of her generation. I'd rather there were multiple voices, but that's not up to me.
