The impression was that Bergman was not only a great filmmaker but also great writer. This I found not quite to be the case. It is interesting to read about his upbringing and how he made his first movies. The style is somewhat conversational and it is a relatively easy read. I would recommend it to anyone interested in film-making as well as the inner darkness of the Swedes. ...more
