The overarching theme among all three collections is (cultural) identity and fitting into American society. Sherman Alexie looks at the situation of Native Americans on and off the reservations, Jhumpa Lahiri, at Indians (subcontinent) living in Massachusettes, and Sandra Cisneros at Mexican American women in Texas. I would be happy to (and probably will) read them all. But I'll be interested to see what gets selected.

I want to read the First and the second book listed. After reading the comments, I feel like both of these books will stir emotion and possibly make me cry. But! I love when I read books that help me reach places I have built a wall around! School's almost out for summer! I'll have so much time to read! Yay!
