Wow, what can I say? It definitely lives up to the hype.
After having been recommended by so many GR friends, I finally decided to pick this book up. I choose the audiobook format, something I usually do when its a first person narrative, and to my luck, the narrator gave a fabulous performance.

This book was in the beautiful tragedy category for me. I couldn't put it down, yet I could hardly stand to read it. The writer's prose was so realistic, I felt like I would wake up in District 12 or in the arena at any moment, having to fight to the death for the right to live without hunger. I felt like I was in the mind of Katniss, and got to know each of the people in her world through her eyes. Indeed I did wake up at all hours during the weekend I read this series, disturbing dreams jarrin

I can say that I absolutely adored The Hunger Games , every single moment, every single word. I was lingering on every move that Katniss made.
When I fist heard about The Hunger Games I had already finished Battle Royale and was indeed hooked on that book. I was weary of reading this book for I would have seen it as a copy of Battle Royale but after giving it a chance, it most certainly is not a copy but a wonder in its own way.

Hunger Games was amazing, deffantly one of the best book I've every read. It has it gory parts, but the deepth of the story and the characters and how it made you not to want to put it down. It was so captivating and has you wanting more. It was you wanded to know about this futrueristic world and Katniss, and if she's going to survive the hunger games... it just mind blowing the thought and creativity that the author put into the book. The ending makes you hungery for more!

A haunting book. I was completely drawn into the world of The Hunger Games.
In many ways, The Hunger Games is a typical dystopian novel – full of poverty and cruelty. But unlike many dystopias, what was particularly horrific in this book was the emphasis on violence as entertainment, the spectacle and pageantry that turned killing into a game.
