*REVAMPED MAY 2012* This audio book was fantastic! Loved that I had this on my ipod and could carry Barrons *shudders....moans* around with me everywhere!!

The world building starts in book 1 and just continues throughout the entire set of books. It is an absolutely stunning world that is seen through Mac's eyes....some of the characters are so insanely beautiful that her eyes even bleed! The pages come to life--as chapter after chapter just gets more intense than the next.

A roller coaster ride is child's play compared to Shadowfever. Just when you think you're all settled in for the ride, BAM!! you get twisted and turned around in all directions. Then you get comfy again only to have your safety harness RIPPED from your chest, while the ride is still going. The book keeps you guessing to the very end.

Mac's search to find who and what she is, has hardened her heart--Rainbow girl seems to be lost forever. The annoying girl from book 1 holds her own against the ruthless villans. Barrons helps her to hone her skills and becomes the anchor that she needs to fight the good fight. He is the most mysterious character that I have ever read about. His attitude, charm, and lethal air puts him in a class, all his own. *AND I WANT ONE!!!!!*

There were so many memorable scenes in Shadowfever. The cliff, the mirrors, the flashbacks, the cage, the book, the Concubine, the King!!! So many!!!! Oh and the McKeltar's!!! *whew! almost forgot about my fave highlanders =D *

What I appreciated about this series----Nothing was predictable, at all. It was horrifyingly beautiful and kept me twisted up to the point that I would grumble in frustration---which is what I love! I feel that this book has raised the bar for me. What in the world can I read next that will give me the same level of intesity that the Fever series has??? If you haven't put it on your "to read" list, you're missing out! ...more

This is my second attempt at reading an adult novel and I was not let down. After trying Blackdagger Brotherhood a few years ago, I went into hiding from all adult novels. I have heard great things about Fever series but could not get over my fear of adult genre till a month ago. I spent the whole month April reading this series.
