The final ending to a wonderful series. Perhaps a little heavy for tweens, but it's been working it's way there through the series. A month after Catching Fire ended Katniss stands in what was once her home district. Razed to the ground. Not all were lost as Gale's quick thinking saved a small portion of the district. “Real or Not Real?” Definitely Real. Given Suzanne Collins character development and gifted storytelling, there isn’t a moment where her futuristic dystopia does not feel real to the reader. Her ability to deftly draw you into every scene and absorb you into Katniss’s world enables you to suspend disbelief and “go” on the journey with her.

The Hunger Games series occurs in a future North America known as Panem, where government oppression severely affects the quality of life for the majority

Katniss Everdeen has managed to survive two rounds in the Hunger Games but she still isn't safe. A rebellion is unfolding and it seems everyone contributed to the plans apart from Katniss herself. District 13 is alive and they need Katniss's help in their rebellion against the Capitol. Katniss must become their Mockingjay no matter what the cost.

Couldn't write a review quite adequate for this series. Seems I'm still at a lost as to what to write here. Maybe I'm torn as to how I feel about the war; the deaths; the violence; the love triangle; the twist; the gladiator ways; the games; the end... I loved Peeta's character, Katniss and Finnik's also, just to mention a few. I'm still scatterbrained to write my coherent thought about this series. Can't wrap my mind around it.
