Just read this for a second time with my hubby! Again, LOVED this weird twisted story about the right and wrong nuances of humanity and morality.

My favorite read of 2018 so far!! Such an intriguing depiction of what it means to be human and mortal, good and evil, justice and mercy, and how human might take for granted life. Such an interesting book.

Well that was a pretty fun ride! I took a bit for me to swallow the premise (I have multiple issues with it lol) but setting those issues aside, I found the events in the last quarter of the book brought my rating from a 3-3.5 to a 4. It takes a lot to surprise me, and I was surprised multiple times, so I will definitely want to read the sequel!

I can see why this is getting all the praise, but for me it mostly missed the mark. In the future, DEATH is outlawed and only Scythes can winnow the population. Our two young heroes must face awesome challenges to do what is right, and only they can stand up against corruption. Go team!

I enjoyed this book, and I'm looking forward to the next in the series. I'd really like to read a prequel about the lives and romance of Scythe Faraday and Scythe Curie- their characters and arc were compelling and left me wanting more. ...more
