Well, it's me and it's not this book, but I didn't felt the connection with it. It has good reviews, though, but still...I love Greek mythology and read lots about it when I was younger. The story of Circe is interesting and the mythology stories are well fit together, but the story itself felt a bit 'flat' for me. It was good, but there was no deepness in it and that was what I've missed. What I liked most was the Minotaurus and Scylla.

This was a frustrating read for me. Circe easily gained my compassion early on at how she was treated by EVERYONE! No one gave two sh*ts about her and made sure she knew it. But time after time (really hundreds and hundreds of years) she still craves their love , even when it’s been more than clear they will never give it. I quickly went from being on her side to wanting to smack her upside the head for not thinking she deserved better. (view spoiler)

Holy molly I forgot how much I loved to read Greek mythology. Reading this Miller will forcefully put that love back in your heart, and it shall stay forever. This book was a wonderful story that drawn you in and wants to make you reread the Odyessy again and all Greek mythology that you could devour. I cannot wait to read Miller's first book now and be charmed again by her storytelling weaving.

So good! Totally worth the hype, even if mythology isn’t your thing.
I feel like most people recognize Circe as a minor character from the Odyssey. This goes into her entire storyline. I’ll be curious to do some research to see what is based on mythology and what the author has created.
Regardless the plot pulls you through. There really aren’t any points that drag but it isn’t so full of story that it’s overwhelming. So recommending this to everyone!

I am glad that I listened to this book, as the performance was very strong. I think the idea of retelling Circe's story from her own perspective was a great way to provide an overview of may Greek myths through Circe's eyes. However, I wish Miller had chosen a more interesting character as her storyteller. Unfortunately, Circe spent the majority of this book trapped on her island waiting for characters to come to her. I was looking forward to exploring these stories through a female perspective,
