33700 I went back to the threads about "Which books are recommended most often on MeFi", and added some titles for your perusal.

Enjoy!

33700 For me, I'd say Last Days of Summer by Steve Kluger is it. Awesome book about the relationship between a precocious kid and his baseball star idol, written in an epistolary style.
33700 Natalie wrote: "I had to struggle to get through Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger; there was pretty much *nothing* I liked about that book. I loved The Time Traveler's Wife so that was not the reaction ..."

God, I know. It was so pompous and pretentious, unlike the vibe she created in Time Traveler's Wife. Huge disappointment.
33700 I just let go of "20000 Leagues Under The Sea". I loved "Around the World In 80 Days", but the chapter upon chapter of describing the landscape caused me to lose interest.
