[close] Morning in Paris, the city awakes to the bells of Notre Dame The Fisherman, fishes The Baker man, bakes To the bells of Notre Dame To the big bells as loud as the thunder To the little bells soft as a psalm And some say the soul of the city's the toll of the Bells The Bells of Notre Dame It is 1482 in Paris, France. Gypsies run among the streets in fear and very little freedom as the Archdeacon of the Cathedral Notre-Dame, Claude Frollo, despises all he deems unworthy and sinful, such as Gypsies, and treats them and judges them unfairly. However, Frollo has his own secret. Up in the bell towers of the Cathedral lives the Hunchback, Quasimodo. Quasimodo is kept hidden and secret, forbidden from joining the people below on the streets of Paris. However, change is coming to Paris as the Feast of Fools, which takes place in Paris every 6th of January, draws nearer and lives shift and change for a single day in Paris.
