Thank you so much! As a new mom who's about to be published, I was (and am!) feeling so overwhelmed. It's great to see such a balanced, thoughtful opinion from somebody I admire. You really talked me down.
Is it high expectation to want this? Because I don't know if I could settle for anything less than this family description right here. I am so thrilled to hear that this is possible.
This is a beautiful description of a family, you are all aware of eachother and know what is required of yourselves in relation to others. The perfect definition of family.
Although I thought your answer was wonderful, I'd like to say to the questioner, "When was the last time someone asked a man that question?" Sigh.
I am so tired of women being asked such stupid questions. I am also tired of people thinking men are inept and have to be taken care of, but their only responsibility is to make money. Whether a woman is working more or less, or making more or less money both partners should be involved in their families and preforming unpaid labor. Just imagine that question geared towards a man, "How do you juggle writing and your art (and music) with being a father and husband?" Men don't get asked these questions because men just get to do what they want and no one thinks they would have any responsibilities as a father or especially husband. That said, I am not at all attacking Liz. I think this question was more about time management, which I have issues with too.
Well stated. Some people need to ask questions to fully understand issues, and it was a good way to answer it. You can't get mad a people for things they don't fully understand or are curious about. So, yes, well stated. very well stated.
Your amazing character really shows in your writing and music and art. I love everything you write and do. This is truly inspirational. Thank you Maggie!!!!
"made of people who love each other and respect what each member loves" This is so important. I'm really happy that you have that.
Hi @Maggie Stiefvater, Can I have your email? For business purposes only. Thank you. I can't message you in your page.
I think the pandemic gave us each- at least for a while- a glimpse of what this might look like. All of us, home together, so tuned in. We can imagine it. Aspire to it. As a teacher, I loved it. But it turns out... people want me and need me to leave that ideal situation for my family to make things better for their family. What a shame.

This is genuinely one of the sweetest things I have ever read.
