I have very similar comments. Your book really touched me--the racism, the complicated family relationships, the feeling that was evoked of clarity and understanding being just out of reach for the characters. It often does feel that way in families. I became so involved with the characters I wanted to be the traffic cop that directs the characters--wait! go back! look again at what happened here! Not wanting to add a spoiler, I have to say the ending was so lovely!
