I don't get inspired to write. Some of my ideas are inspired by things I see, hear, read, or dream, but writing is work. Just like my corporate job, I'm not inspired to do it, but I show up, everyday, and do it anyway. The difference between the two is that with the writing, I answer only to my characters, their imagination, which ultimately keeps me sane. I show up for the other job to get a paycheck and afford the aforementioned coffee, beer, and whiskey.
