Having been betrayed twice in two very different ways I wanted a happy ending for the main character. Boy did she deserve it, she had been to emotional hell and so I came up with an idea and surprisingly as I was researching an aspect of the plot a lovely twist occurred in the story for me. As stated in previous posts it was the most fun writing it. I loved it.

I thought I had finished with the main character and actually have four or five other book ideas but I have had some great ideas come to me over the past few months and so notes are taken and I'm raring to continue alongside Fi as she continues her journey.

As a self published debut novelist I researched how to self publish and the overarching message was to write the book, publish the book and market the book and so I have given myself two years to market it. I dabble with notes for book two but I won't start it until I feel a sense of having done the best I possibly can to get book one out there for people to enjoy.

Get writing in whatever format. Typing, pen and notebooks, just do it. I loved writing this debut novel and the pain of fifteen hour days was worth it. Having that first paperback copy in my hands was an amazing feeling. Do it.

I get to tell stories and send them out there into the world. It's crazy and yet humbling to think that my book, MY debut novel is out there and the fact that readers take the trouble to message me to tell me that they are loving the book and wanting to know when the next one is out is very inspiring.

Take time away from my desk, Fresh air, rehydration, food and maybe a creative writing exercise from a text book on a completely different subject to distract myself for a while and always self belief that the words will come.
