Countdown to Love: the idea just popped into my head. I wanted to make Marie seem a bossy and organised woman, whereas in reality she is lonely and looking for love, just like everyone else. She goes about finding love the only way she know how.
Touching Ed: To be released in February 2015. The idea started from a conversation I had with my friends about how romance stories or erotic books are not very close to reality; especially as we age. What started as a romance has now turned into something a lot deeper, and hopefully lots of readers will relate to the characters.

I just look around me and find so many people with their own tales to tell. Travelling opens your eyes and fills you with so many new ideas that I don't think I will ever not be inspired. I enjoy writing, so it is no hardship to pick up a pen. I prefer to hand write first and then type.

I suppose that being early in my writing career I have lots of ideas bouncing around; mostly in the romance genre, but specifically for mature readers, like myself. I find romances that appeal to my generation far and few between, so I thought I would try and close that gap. I have three different types of books that I am working on. The first is The Silver Years Series; following Abby and Ed (50&62yrs old) who met late in life through fate or misunderstanding and although very different to each other fall in love. The twist to this tale is the series will cover age related problems like Erectile Dysfunction and the menopause; hopefully in a humorous and realistic way.

You may notice the use of Silver. I was trying to find a word that summed up the age group of my readers. I like silver because it shines and is not as intimidating as gold.

Just do it. I am a late starter and never had the confidence of the time before. Write what you can when you can and keep everything. Do a lot of research and gather information and advice from other writers. I have to mention that being an indie publisher is very hard work and if you intend to do that as well, then start to investigate and read lots of books on the subject.

For me its the freedom of time. I write when I can and not making it a nine to five job. I travel a lot, so this fits well into my lifestyle. I also like the tingle when you start to build up a character. I very often sit writing or typing with a smile on my face or a scowl as I mimic the characters face while I write. Very amusing for partner.

Luckily, being new at writing I have not yet needed to deal with writer's block. I enjoy writing and I allow myself the indulgence of writing without thinking and then I tidy up after it's typed up. If I cut any bits out I paste them into my scrap pages, just in case I use them in another book. Doing it this way allows the thoughts to flow freely and nothing is wasted.
