Besides how entertaining I found the short, compact piece, I've taken a well-understood lesson in perseverance, courage, inner strength and individuality. The best thing about Eddie for me is how despite all odds, he continues to try. His journey reminds us—especially children—that there's great reward in effort and persistence, and that our true strengths lie in the things that make us different; even when the world around us takes a while to adjust to these differences. The lights at the end of the tunnel are closer and brighter than we assume.

"I just finished reading Peanut the Hamster and totally fell in love with it. This is a story about a writer named Paul and his pet hamster named Peanut. It turns out that to Paul this is where his inspiration comes from. Paul feels his live is going good until one day his prized possession Peanut comes up missing and Paul feels depressed and that his writing career is over. This is a story of hope and faith, when all seems over. Paul found hope no just from his little friend but from within himself as well. I loved this book in part due to its great story and its illustration. The graphics really bring it to life. I must admit it made me smile in the end. Therefore, I gave it a 5 out of 5. I highly recommend this story to those looking for a great read. "
