The seventh visit to Augathella in this series and this time Bec Hunter, local nurse, and travelling guitarist, Matt Randall, are the main feature. It is a sweet romance even if it is mostly conducted from a hospital bed.

However Bec and Matt almost take second place to what is happening to the Cartwright family. A wedding, a cancelled honeymoon and a child in a coma make for a lot of drama. Tissues are needed in the reading of this book!

A short but sweet, easy read.

It was Sophie and Kent's wedding at last, and romance was in the air. Everyone was content, having a wonderful time, with the happy couple looking forward to their honeymoon in Fiji. That was until a loud and terrified scream ripped through the air outside the marquee where the adults were dancing. The wind had picked up, and a piece of iron roof had taken flight - Matt Randall quickly pushed young Petie out of the way, but both he and Matt were badly injured. Matt was in Charleville hospital, not far from Augathella, while Petie was flown to the Royal Childrens Hospital in Brisbane. Would they both survive?

Bec Hunter, a nurse, had travelled to Charleville to be there when Matt woke up, so opened her house to the family who needed it while waiting. With both Brayden and Callie in Brisbane with Petie, Nigel and Rory were being looked after by Sophie and Kent - the honeymoon could wait. But would the outcome be a good one?

is the 7th in the Augathella Girls series by Aussie author and it was the best of the lot in my opinion. A fast paced, heart-in-throat read which I flew through and thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommended.

Another visit to Augathella and you will need a box of tissues while reading this one, I do love catching up with all my friends in each book and this time we see nurse Bec Hunter find her forever man in the drifter Matt.

Bec works hard and loves her job as a nurse she is studying for her master’s degree in dementia, when she meets Matt there is an instant attraction and soon they are spending more time together and then the terrible accident and Bec becomes his nurse, will he open up to her and will she find love and happiness?

Sophie and Kent’s wedding is in full swing when a gust of wind changes everything, Matt who never stays in one place too long these days, travels in his van with his guitar and picking up work here and there, jumps in a saves a young boys life and ends up in hospital and being cared for by Bec, is it time to open up about his past and stop travelling?

Yes another great installment in this series, it is emotional and heartwarming and one I do highly recommend, I am loving this series.

Another visit to Augathella means that we get to know another familiar character. Bec Hunter is the local nurse and she's become quite infatuated with wanderer Matt Reynolds.

Matt has never committed to settling in one place but a serious incident at a wedding may be the catalyst to change his mindset. Matt's heroics of rescuing a child leaves him with need of urgent medical attention. Concerned about his mental state, Doctor Harry Higgins tasks Bec to accompany Matt to Charleville as he recuperates in hospital.

Being in such close proximity is the perfect opportunity to open up about their feelings. Yet, Matt remains quite the closed book about his past. What led him to become a drifter in the first place and is he included in the picture Bec has for the future?

Meanwhile, young Petie Cartwright is rushed to Brisbane to undergo surgery for a skull fracture. The longer the lad stays in an induced coma, the likelihood of a full recovery diminishes. The Cartwright's are about to embark on a new beginning but maybe not the one that they've joyously envisioned.

I absolutely adore this community that exists in Annie's head. Book seven truly defines the Aussie spirit when the chips are down. It's also the most heartstopping yet. You'll need tissues on standby.

I'm so glad that we'll be seeing these characters again in the Short and Sweet series. I really don't want to let them go just yet!!

Among the more interesting stories in this series.
I guess I liked it because the story was focused on an accident instead of the awkwardly bad romance of two people with terrible communication skills.
It had the potential for four stars, but lost that chance when it went too quickly from interesting suspense to, “oh, look, everything is resolved!”
I have to say the romance, such as it was, was slightly more believable than I thought it would be going in. So there’s that. As with the other books in the series, there’s a lost opportunity for a sense of place in the Outback. I hold out hope that the author will fix that in a future book.

Book number 7 in this series and I really loved it. Will be sad when this series is finished. So many interesting characters and have enjoyed learning about them all. Might need to plan an outback trip I think.

Really enjoyed the book a lot, Loved Beck and Matts story however loved the fact that all the other characters stories continued. It was lovely how everyone banded together after the accedent and the way everyone helped each other. Looking forward to the final book.

Another excellent addition to this series though I confess to needing a few tissues this time. Absolutely recommended.

A little on the short but it makes for a really quick read. It is a stand alone novel (novelette?) but it would be more interesting if I had read the one previously written.
