Another wonderful entry in the Matt Drake series, the Blood King is back, insane as ever, and he's hellbent on destruction. This time he's planted a nuclear bomb in New York City, and the Drake's team has to race against the clock to find and disarm it. As the action takes place over, under and through the streets of New York Drake and his friends find that time is against them, and then the stakes get even higher...
I do enjoy this series, perfect escapist fiction. The banter between the characters is a highlight, after 24 books they're definitely old friends, but who knows what will come next for the team? I'll definitely be waiting with baited breath!

Wow what more can I say WOW!. The team finally get the Blood King. All hell is breaking loose on the streets of New York yet decisions have to be made and what decisions they are. I don't know how you do it David I was on the edge of my seat reading this and couldn't put it down. Fantastic...!!!

The Blood King Takedown is an action packed thriller with a few unexpected twists. Strike Force 1 have finally got their man. A man that has led them through different countries fighting an army of men who are only loyal through fear of death and the death of their families. Nothing is as it seems.
Thinking they can finally hand him over to the authorities, they find he is still one step ahead. Determined to destroy the Strike Force Teams and the President, he is holding the country to ransom in the form of a nuclear bomb and explosive devices placed throughout the city.
An added complication of assassins poring out of every nook and cranny determined to kill The Blood King doesn't help matters. The team find themselves fighting for their lives and trying to keep the man that has tried to kill them at every turn, alive.

Expect the unexpected
I was holding my breath all the way through this book. Once again we see Matt Drakes team in action, at their best. My attention was kept all the way. The suspense was tangible. Just when you think you know what will happen next, the unexpected happens and I was totally shocked. I am so looking forward to the next adventure.
It would be best to read this series in order, to get the maximum benefit from David Leadbeater’s exciting story telling in this latest chapter of Matt and his teams lives, and the lives of those depending on them. I definitely recommend this book.

Once I started reading this book I couldn’t put it down.
Strike Force One are once again in pursuit of the Blood King who is in America with evil on his mind. But what’s new there, he is always intent on destruction and death, especially that of the President and any of the Spear team that might get in his way, if he can.
This adventure takes place on water and land but can everyone survive, will the team come through unscathed, will they catch the villain this time??? For those answers you’ll need to read this excellent work of fiction. All I will say though is, I can’t wait for Matt Drake 25, and IMHO no 24 was the best one yet!

Chaos & Mayhem return
The Blood King take down.
The sociopathic Blood King is back bringing his very own type of crazy mayhem back with him. What is truly worse is the Strike Force Team has to protect him. The rollercoaster begins in three cities and then explodes out of control as the SFT rushes to New York City to prevent massive amounts of death and destruction. They are met by 1000s - crooked cops, mad old school Russians, and Luka’s men all wanting a piece of the Blood King or to rescue him while stopping at nothing in their efforts to take down the SFT in the process. This is non-stop action at its best with Leadbeater at the head of the crowd! This a must read!

The fight is on will they take the blood king down this time
How many will die in this battle to get to the blood king, revenge is the only thing in his head though he is very clever covers all options all areas all scenarios, team spear fight kill anything to get to him. Then he’s caught but for how long and what will the end result be. They travel all over America to stop Luca kovalenko there are so many twists in this story and the last us the worst OMG it’s all run fight capture loose capture again and in the end who is the winner humm. Highly recommend this book David Leadbeater the author has a mind that’s so exciting that it’s hard to keep up

This was definitely unexpected. A really great franchise plot by Luka. Keep all your enemies close till you get ultimate prize. Coburn gave him ultimate prize himself. But Hayden and company are left in wind not knowing Luka destroyed their secret HQ and G is dead . Luka is out their with 15 nuclear weapons. See what happens next. Great job!!! 10 🌟 plus!!!! Non stop action ride as Strike Force again tangle with the Blood King. Set over a short period, as a race to stop suitcase nukes from going off, ends in disaster for the president and the teams future. Good book but perhaps to much non stop action, needed more character development and mystery/quest of earlier books.

Another winner to enjoy
Yet again the author brings out the characters natures and keeps the suspense going to the end.

Disappointing finale
The Blood King Takedown was classic David Leadbeater, and I enjoyed it very much. Right up until the end.
I can’t say much more than that because I don’t want this review to be a spoiler, but I would’ve preferred a different finale.

Matt and the others who we all consider family are finally going to end things with the Blood King Luka Kovalenko, but we all know nothing is ever easy for these guys. There is loads of action as always, along with laughs, twists and concerns whether Matt and the others will make it out the other end as we know no one is ever safe and we have lost a lot of good people in the past. This was a great read and kinda made me want to read the series right from the beginning again!
