I enjoyed this tale! It was creative and the boy was very real and true to form. Good construction of a young man's imagination. I would read this aloud Tony grandchildren when they come to stay with us.
Childrens Books: The Enchanted Hat by Mary Sue is a cute tale of a boy that finds a hat that once he puts it one, he goes places and does things he only has dreamed of. A magic hat. I got a bit bored at times but I don't know if kids would or not, hard to tell with kids. Some kids like some things and not others. It was very clever but long winded in some areas. I idea was cute and so was the characters.
What would you do with an enchanted hat? A hat that, randomly changes shape to show function. Would you put it on? Would you see where the hat takes you? That's what David does. A keeper of all things, he happens across a hat that changes his life forever! David is a collector. Whether a leaf, a rock, baseball cards- anything, he will find a place in his room for it and add to it as days, months and years go by. It's driven his parents into debates, but he refuses to stop. One day he happens upon a hat, stuck in the upper branches of a tree. But it's no ordinary hat. It fluidly changes. One second it's a clown's hat, the next a yellow hard hat. Once in David's clutches, he's sent on adventures that would make any collector's day!
The Enchanted Hat is an enigma. I liked the book, but found two things wrong with hit. First, the cover, to me represented a childish tale. It said: I'm about a little boy who just wants to have fun and wear... well, hats! I also thought it was going to be a picture book. The actual story let me know my 12 1/2 year old could have read it. It's strange, but still very likable.
The second thing I found wrong was, for a children's book, it's very wordy. It's over one hundred pages long, but could easily have been shared around fifty or so. It was in the fine detailing of David's thoughts; they could have been shortened a great deal, making the perfect read.
Other than that, David going from rockstar to constructionist and even a scientist on safari was fun. It's what makes children's books amazing and enjoyable. I do suggest that if you chose this book, give it to your nine, ten year old instead of six or seven year old. There are no photos and a lot of conversations and words anyone younger may not have knowledge of. ( ) Cheers! I'm off to the next read!

This book is meant to be for children in elementary school as an easier chapter book. However, I found the first few chapters to be interesting but quickly the book lost it's charm and interest. I found it very difficult to force myself to finish this book. I would not recommend this book because I really feel children will become bored.
I love this book . I'm waiting for a picture book of this so that I can see the characters of this book. I will tell my sister Aarohi & my friend Diksha to read this amazing book
This is a fun, perhaps Grades 3-5, read describing typical school boy and girl thoughts and imaginations, and especially for children who are involved with collecting stuff. I am somewhat of a collector myself and so I read the book to see if it was one that I would recommend to our grandchildren.
I liked the story and think it is a fun book, but I was rather disappointed in the number of typos it has for a book under 100 pages. School children will probably get a lot of laughs out of the antics of Davis and Marjorie and the adventures they had while wearing 'magic hats' which took them to lots of strange and exciting places.
While not a sophisticated read, The Enchanted Hat offered more than I expected from a budget Kindle book purchase. David is a collector, maybe even to the point of hoarding. Hardly anyone understands him and he has few friends. Discovering a magical hat that brings his imagination to life, he escapes into his imaginary world only to find it disturbed by an unwanted guest. She is always interrupting his fun until one day he realizes he misses her. Can the enchanted hat bring back his friend?
This is a really clever story. I appreciate the whole premise, as this is something I would have loved to dream of as a child. However, it is often hard to imagine that the wording is what a little boy would use, it often sounds more like an adult. Also, there are many spelling and grammar errors.
This book had many things that I like :mystery, different adventures and makes me feel more cheer up when I feel I am not really good at something. I will recommend it to 14and below
Read this to our grandson it was a fun book for both of us trying to figure out where David and .marjorie were going to meet up next. Love that it was teaching that you can go anywhere with just your imagination.
A fun read-aloud story full of imagination. The kindle version had many missing words throughout the book, however, which was disappointing. Thankfully I could figure out what made sense while reading to my son, but it was rather surprising. Still a great story.
This is a fun book I enjoyed reading it to my children. I would have given it a five star rating if it didn't have so many typos. This book is good for the imagination!
