Kay Lee Arthur was an American Christian author, Bible teacher, and co-founder of Precept Ministries International. Renowned for her accessible and inductive approach to Bible study, she helped millions engage deeply with Scripture. Arthur began her ministry informally, teaching teenagers in her living room alongside her second husband, Jack Arthur. Their work soon grew into a global outreach, headquartered in Chattanooga, Tennessee, under the name Precept Ministries International. She hosted the daily Bible teaching program Precepts for Life and became a respected voice in evangelical circles. Arthur authored numerous books and was a four-time winner of the ECPA Christian Book Award for titles such as A Marriage Without Regrets and The New Inductive Study Bible. Her ministry was rooted in a personal reawakening to faith in the early 1960s, following a divorce and a return to religious life. She and Jack also served briefly as missionaries in Mexico before founding their ministry. Arthur remained active in public faith-based initiatives into her later years and was known for her firm stances on social issues. She passed away on 2025 leaving behind a lasting legacy in Christian education and publishing.
My very first bible study was a group in a home across town with a lot of hurting worman that was trying to figure this thing called christainty out when they had so much hurt in this world. Without Kay Athurs insights and anoiting I would never have been able to make it. Through this book and many others she has written I have learned GOD cares for me, my stubbling blocks and trails many times are of my own making because I've not really learned to real journey is belonging to Him alone. He delivers when the time is right and we are in the circumstance of surrender. I love Kay Arthur she is certainly a leading Lifeguard for God and has reach many souls drowning in a sea of sin and mirky clay.
As is anything by Kay Arthur, her study is impeccable, in-depth, rich with scripture. I wasn’t going through painful things at the time of this reading so it didn’t have quite the impact on me as it did on others in the group, but that does not diminish its biblically significant content.
I’d recommend this to anyone who is going through a hurting time or has gone through pain and still needs help healing.
Kay Arthur's studies are grounded in the truth of God's Word. In Lord, Heal My Hurts she shares her personal story, but keeps the focus on how much God loved her and how much He loves you. I used this book as a personal study, but it includes questions and discussion opportunities for group studies as well.
I am so grateful for God’s steadfast love and His gift of grace to me. I took my time with this wonderful study-much longer than the recommended 13 weeks. It was worth it! I have a stronger sense of who I am in Christ, and of His tremendous love for me. I am learning to obey my sovereign Lord, and my life is becoming rich and full. God did not love us because us because we are valuable, but we are valuable because God loves us.” Martin Luther
An excellent study for all Christians. We all have hurts and there is only one way to have them healed-The Lord. This study is based in the book of Jeremiah. She has a video series that goes along with the study and the lesson on the crucifixion is chilling. Really hits home.
This is a great study for anyone who has been hurt by life or is still hurting. It will bring you to the Balm of Gilead, to know true healing. The DVDs are also very good and compliment the study.
