He’s the campus king with a no girlfriends rule. But he’s about to break it for the most irritating, sassy-mouthed woman he’s ever met.
Flynn Kingman’s senior year plan is simple: class, getting drafted in the first round, and no romantic complications. Until he chases a rogue baby donkey across campus and meets Tempest Navarro—the one woman immune to his charm.
Tempest Navarro is hiding her bestselling romance novels, anxiety, and a baby donkey in her sorority house. Nope, nothing to see here. Especially not for a jock that’s too hot for his own good. Why does he have to be in her Shakespeare class, saying smart things, and driving her insane?
When they’re forced together by a university tutoring program, verbal sparring turns to undeniable attraction. Especially when Tempest’s emotional support donkey, her meddling sisters, and a whole lot of Kingman siblings are all conspiring to push them together at every turn.
This steamy sports romance features a protective football player with hidden depths, a curvy heroine owning her talents and learning to take up space, an emotional support donkey with perfect timing, and that Bridgertons-meets-American-Football family that’ll make you wish you were a Kingman.

We got another kingsmen!!! It’s Flynn the twin in the family the playboy who only dates girls for 2 weeks.. he has his reasons. Which he speaks on why. But he’s cocky and all that he meets Tempest who doesn’t care for his name or reputation. He’s shocked and interested why she isn’t interested in him. There banter goes back and forth plus he loves that she loves animals and loves the baby donkey he tried to catch. Beside Flynn worrying about where he’s going to go for Pros Tempest is worried about her identity being leaked because she’s a secret author. I love that her bestie had her back making sure no one found out. And I was Glad Flynn didn’t snoop and waited for her to tell him on her own time.
With lovable animals we have the kingsmen family and Tempest family.. now I’ll be honest the mother and few sisters in Tempest family pissed me off I wish Tempest didn’t forgive so easy. Her grandma was a hoot. We learn why Flynn does his 2 weeks rule and I felt for him. Losing a parent and seeing what his father went though I kinda understand where he’s coming from. I wonder who’s next.

Big thank you to Amy Award & her team at Love Notes PR for the ARC copy of this book! ✨
Let me start off by saying that Tempest Navarro is my all time favorite character in The Cocky Kingmans series. 10/10. No notes. She means everything to me. Flynn was equally as adorable and I really enjoyed their banter.
This is a cute story, with plenty of animal shenanigans, pure love, and all the emotional family moments. That's what I really enjoyed about this book. It made me laugh and cry and want so much more. Amy is a great author.
I will say that if you're looking for spice, then this isn't the book for that. What used to be pretty open door slowly turned into close door romance which is totally fine, but it's just a weird transition considering how the series started. The spice/smut gets less as the series goes on, so if that's why you're here, then I wouldn't recommend this book in particular FOR THAT REASON.
BUUUTTTTTT - this is an adorable love story about self-acceptance, sisterhood, found family, and truly just finding one's own self. It's cute and sappy in a good way. I can't wait to see what Amy Award writes next. ❤
Firstly,I want to thank LoveNotes Pr and Amy Award for trusting me with this ARC 💙 OH.MY.GOD. This was the most pure & beautiful romance I have read in my entire reading life. So,let's get it from the start: We follow Tempest Navvaro, a best selling author who no one knows her.Yes,exactly what you read. What will happened when she will get into a tutoring program with the hottest guy on the campus, who, surpisingly, knows everything about literature? Oh,There is also donkey sitting tangling them up together! Starting,we have a hillarious rom-com going on.The times I bursted out laughing in this book were uncountable, especially with the donkey and the way it is always messing out around with everyone -yes,they are my new favourite animals from now on 🫏.Accompanied, with those funny scenes was a slow burn romance that was based on books, and books only. They way the fell with each other at the same time, without actually admitting it,when the reader could clearly see it was the cherry on top!Even when those two,got together the love got into in an another planet, they were cutetsy, passionate and so supportive of each other!Plus,I loved that she choose many co-plots as found family, one bed etc, because she made everyone understand how strong where the bonds in Kingman family, something that has a huge impact in understanding the universe & the story itself! Added,we have a book with full smut scenes, those that they won't leave your head even after days of reading Amy's story.Flynn was THE MAN during these times,he knew how to take care a woman and my girl Tempy was his one✨. Personally, even though I laughed and fell in love with each page, towards the end I really did found myself crying, because that woman KNOWS how to write about diversity &representation .The way she did not just went through letters, yet made the characters speak for themselves about their fears, struggles something that made it so real to me,that I just couldn't keep my eyes off the pages 💌 5⭐
Once I started, I couldn’t stop reading and it has easily moved up to my favorite of the series. “The Jack*ss in Class” is a swoony, heartfelt and laugh out loud college football rom-com that was a fantastic addition to the series.
It’s senior year for Flynn Kingman and the focus is on the NFL Columbine and being drafted. He also dates but has a strict two week rule to make sure he stays focused. But thanks to a rogue donkey at a pep rally, he meets Tempest Navarro. Tempest is a senior as well and while getting her degree, being a part of a sorority and writing her best selling romance novels under a fake name. The two are opposites but are forced to hang out when they are paired up in a university tutoring program. As they spend time together, it’s clear that they are compatible and feelings start to develop.
The Kingmans are forces to be reckoned with and each one has been so much fun to read about it. Flynn has all the confidence, intelligence and is such a genuine guy. He has all the confidence on the outside and backs it up when he supports someone he cares about. Tempest is such a wonderful woman and I loved how she was going to college for a degree she wanted vs what her mother wanted. She’s a big animal lover so volunteering at a sanctuary and befriending a donkey who likes to cause a little bit of chaos. It made me so happy she was a romance author and so successful while in college. Flynn and Tempest had great banter and they had me laughing out loud more than once. They might have been forced together in the beginning but the chemistry they had was undeniable. I loved that Flynn had fallen for her first and realized that he could have it all, thanks to a good pep talk from his Dad. And when he found her secret, he was her biggest supporter and had her back when she needed it most. As always, I loved the plus sized reputation and the confidence Tempest found during this story. The ending was so perfect for them and I loved the possible hint we got for the next book in the series.
A couple that studies Shakespeare together stays together!!
I love how Amy continues to find a way to make me fall deeper in love with the Kingman family. Tempest and Flynn’s story was perfect soothed my little theater obsessed heart. As a girlie who went through a bit of a Shakespeare phase in high school this story felt very much like one of his…except with less murder and more donkeys
Tempest was perfect as the introverted sorority girl with a (not so) dark secret. I could relate to her complicated relationship with her family and the need she had to make them proud while still wanting to pursue something that made her happy. She’s the kind of writer I want to be one day and to see her take control of her career and her confidence was inspiring
Of all the Kingman brothers I never expected Flynn to be the intellectual one. But I guess a major point in this book (and series) is subverting the expectations that society puts on you. He was a very male lead and you could tell that his personality spanned far wider than the football field he plays on! And as always the familial connection of the Kingman family manages to perfectly connects each story and its characters together, long after they’ve ended.
I felt like the story was very easy to follow and leaned more towards Tempest’s journey of self-confidence. Flynn’s story was about accepting love into your heart, but Tempest had to learn to accept herself even at the cost of her family. It would’ve been easy to make her parents and older sisters the villains and have Tempest cut them off but what happened instead was much more realistic to a lot of people.
Speaking from experience as a Hispanic woman, family is super important to us and we tend to forgive a lot more than we should just to keep the peace. But there comes a point where you have to put your foot down and demand respect. A lot of times you’ll realize that the issues your parents passed on to you came from similar experiences they had, causing generational trauma. Luckily the Navarros were able to see the light and start to forge a better path!
The central idea of family and acceptance made me feel warm and happy while reading this book and in all the murkiness of Tempest’s struggles it was nice to revisit the Kingmans and get a dose of wholesomeness.
I recommend this book to anyone that needs that wholesomeness or maybe just needs a little confidence boost and a reminder that they can take up all the space they need!
I adore all the Kingman brothers, and Flynn is no exception. His story kicks off by chasing a runaway baby donkey across campus, which leads him straight to Tempest. Though he's known for being a charming playboy who avoids commitment, their connection is undeniable. When a tutoring program and a shared class throw them together, sparks start to fly. Flynn surprises Tempest by revealing a deeper, more caring side, especially when she needs it most. Their sweet journey is filled with heart, humor, and adorable donkey antics that had me smiling the whole way through. This book is a delightful addition to the series, and if you've fallen for the other Kingman brothers, you'll absolutely love this one too.
Thank you, Amy Award and Love Notes PR for the ARC.
omg!!! ABSOLUTELY freaking amazing!!! this book was so funny and cute! i will say that her being a secret romance writer is EVERYTHING because same girlie. the donkey in the house? and him having to chase the donkey too? it was funny. i couldn’t stop reading it. i love their dynamic the most. his, “no romance” energy and her being a secret hopeless romantic worked so perfectly. spice was about a level 3-3.5 depending who you ask but i loved it!!
These books are always a good time. I’ve enjoyed every single one. I love the family so much and loved seeing another big family dynamic on Tempest’s side.
I think this book was my fav in the series so far because jock x nerdy girl is a trope I love lol. Also love that each of the FMC’s is plus size dating professional sports players.
Just heartwarming light fluff of a book that also talks about the struggles being plus size and finding love.
** Thank you so much to Love Notes PR for the ARC **
“The Jack*ss in Class” explores the story of Tempest, a college student who is secretly a best-seller romance writer and Flynn, the Kingman who is afraid of commitment, and is surprisingly into Shakespeare. Oh and for course, there’s an amazing donkey in the middle to help all the chaos!
I know I usually dislike when families intervene in the story, but I swear that the Navarros were amazing! Abuela Novela was an amazing side-character! She is strong, helps everyone, and it’s just a badass. I think my main issue when authors add family to the mixture it’s because they don’t help the FMC usually and in this case, Tempest family was a perfect balance of too many expectations, but also family sticking to each other and helping through bad times!
The Kingman family is always a bit supportive, and it’s a bundle of joy to see them all together, so Flynn sharing those values with Abuela and Tempest was very heart-warming. This is overall a very cute book even though it has some smut, the message was more important than just Tempest and Flynn’s relationship.
Tempest’s mother just has too many plans for her, too many expectations for what she should do, and that is not what Tempest wants. She’s tired of making everyone happy, she studies hard to get good grades but she also writes and publishes romance novels that are a success and keeps them hidden from her closest family because she cannot fathom how they’d react once they knew what she did. Also, the debate about smut is very important. Allow me to tell you that smut was never frowned upon in the Literature circles - and I was very happy Amy represented that! Academic circles never deem erotica, smut, or romance novels less valuable. In fact, if you have an idea for a thesis that would entail new book, that would be amazing because everyone is pretty sick of the classics. There’s only so much you can do with Shakespeare! Now a thesis/paper with Shakespeare vs Smutty Shakespeare, that would be incredibly smart. As a Literature graduate, I was very happy to see someone share these views; that smut, erotica, and feminist books are not considered inferior or trash.
Flynn is just dream book boyfriend material! He’s kind, he’s very smart and loves literature, especially Shakespeare, and he also sees Tempest like no one did before. Flynn sees her defenses, but also how others have neglected and unappreciated her. Even though her sorority friends are awesome and come up with great plans to help Tempest, no one helped her with her family. So when Tempest trusts Flynn to be by her side, she finds out that he’s very protective of her but also firm in his words. He doesn’t want to erase Tempest's voice and her concerns. He wants her to do it by herself and thrive together.
“The Jack*ss in Class” is adorable and another amazing book in the Kingman’s series, totally worth reading it for the chaos, the feelings and the laughs!
Oh man was this book FUN! This was my first time reading Amy Award, and I have already gone and added all her books to my TBR…seriously, how have I never heard of her before?? Her writing is phenomenal and so uplifting…fun…SPICY 🤭, and full of really thought provoking plot.
In this book we meet Tempest…our beautiful , plus size queen. She’s a college senior, animal lover, sorority girl with the best group of girl friends anyone can ask for, and just when you thought she couldn’t get any more amazing, she’s SECRETLY a spicy romance author writing under a pen name! Talk about a self made baddie !! Love!
Flynn is our heartthrob MMC and one of the infamous Kingman brothers. He’s also a senior at the same college as Tempest…star linebacker who is headed for the NFL. His focus is fully on football and his career, but thanks to his two week dating rule, he’s able to have fun with all the ladies who are swooning over him without the commitment of a full time , full fledged relationship. But that’s all about to change thanks to one adorable donkey 🥰
Flynn and Tempest have an adorable meet cute when Flynn finds himself changing a baby donkey across campus, leading him straight to Tempest. But, unlike all the other ladies on campus, Tempest isn’t falling at his feet…in fact she’s actively uninterested which only makes her more intriguing to Flynn. These two end up getting stuck together when the university pairs them together as part of the campus wide tutoring program.
Tempest is guarded. She’s surrounded by friends who love and care for her but she’s had to deal with bullying and fat shaming most of her life. Pressure from her family to do what they want vs what SHE wants, has caused her to trust only in herself and vent weary of others. Flynn is similar in that he’s guarded as well but for very different reasons. He’s not willing to allow himself to get emotional invested in anyone…afraid that his focus will be taken away from his ultimate goal of making it in the NFL.
As they spend time together they begin to open up more. The attraction is there on both ends, but Flynn definitely falls FIRST and HARD. Tempest is hesitant…unsure why the campus god wants anything to do with her. But this man is determined to show her that she is the most amazing woman he’s ever met…she’s his and he plans to prove that to her in every way. Especially in the bedroom…and trust me he DOES 🥵🥵
I loved how supportive Flynn was of Tempest when he figured out her secret. I’m just imagining him running to the bookstore and buying all her books. Going with her to book signings and being her supportive book husband 🥹🥹 please…this giant man taking care of and supporting his woman and her dreams ??? I love it. He supports her with her family too. Standing by her and whatever choices she makes…always being her cheerleader.
This book isn’t just about romance, it’s also about navigating family expectations and ultimately doing what’s right for you. Following your heart even if it means standing up to your family and putting your foot down despite cultural expectations, or just familial expectations in general. Family is hard to navigate when pressure is put on you to do what they want vs what you want for yourself…but I loved seeing Tempest stand up for herself and watching her family eventually come around and see her point of view.
I’m so excited to read more of Amy Award and I can’t wait to see what the next book is about ! ❤️
Thank you so much to Amy Award and Love Notes PR for the opportunity to ARC read this incredible book! ❤️

Review: Thank you Amy Award and Love Notes PR for the opportunity to read and review this book.
I’m a huge fan of Amy Award, and this series in particular, so it should come as no surprise that I loved this latest installment. It’s a funny and entertaining romantic comedy with vibrant characters, endless quips, and a slow burn plot that doesn’t feel slow. The Shakespeare references were brilliant; even the Navarro sisters are all named after Shakespeare heroines. The self-referential romance novel references are so very clever.
The best part, though? Once Flynn and Tempest declared their feelings for each other, there was no third act breakup or misunderstanding! And of course there was Amy Award’s signature blend of sweet fluff, a little spicy spice, and a strong body positive message. And the anthropomorphic baby donkey is just the cherry on top!
Ratings: Movie rating R, 5/5 stars overall, 4/5 romance, 0/5 violence, and 3/5 spice level. The Leni Kaufman cover? 5/5, though I’d give it a hundred stars if I could. A-donkey-ble!
Flynn and Tempest 😈🤭❤️ These two were adorable! From the banter to the steam and fluffy and sassy moments, I was hooked! I loved the glimpses we got into the Kingman clan 🤭 and the teasers for future books and couples! The writing is beautiful and the setting brilliant. Thank you so much for the ARC, Amy 🥹
Flynn Kingman 🔥 Okay, this man had me blushing, giggling, and kicking my feet, and I'm not shy. Tall, handsome, golden retriever, intelligent, rich, a talented and successful linebacker, protective, goofy, can quote Shakespeare in his sleep, flirty, and can't stop falling for Tempest and the cutest baby donkey 😍❤️ While chasing a bonkey across campus he's flabbergasted by the woman who won't even spare him a look (I mean, she's reading a book, so you understand 🤭) He's used to woman literally swooning and wanting a chance to have him for 2 weeks 🥵😏 For the first time in his life, he doesn't want to follow his 2 week rule.
Tempest Navarro 🔥 I am incredibly proud of her and the decisions she makes 🥹 She definitely made all romance readers proud! Beautiful, intelligent, curvy, shy, secretive, sassy, can also quote Shakespeare in her sleep, bold, secretly rich, successful, the cutest mamma to a baby donkey and refuses to let Flynn Kingman work his pantymelting charm (even if she's already secretly falling) 😏🤭 She can't avoid Flynn anymore, when she becomes his tutor and they spend more time together taking care of bonkey 😏 Tempest has the most loving and frickin cutest of sorority sisters 🥹 I loved their dynamic, and how protective and supportive they were of her, especially when she felt her world was crashing.
This book is a definite must-read 🥹 Now, I can't wait for Gryff and Artemis 😏 because those secret looks and that mutual yearning 🔥
This was a cute story and I was entertained while reading it. I liked both main characters and they kept me turning pages with their dynamic.
I liked how Tempest seemed self assured perhaps on the outside with being confident in her own things and interests like reading but still struggled with insecurities and growing into herself and her interests and career. I enjoyed seeing Flynn’s growth in avoiding attachment to just falling head first for Tempest’s sassy nature.
I have read all the books in the series so I was prepared for it being mostly fluff, sometimes bordering into cheesy, and at times it can come across as “after school special” - the last book felt a little like that to me and this one too. But I know that’s what I’m getting into and I was ok embracing the fluff! I only mention it here as other readers may not enjoy this if this kind of tone isn’t your thing. They didn’t bother me and didn’t put me off the book.
However, there were a few things that didn’t work for me. Firstly, Flynn mentioned how he didn’t do relationships a ton of times, it was a bit overkill. But mainly I didn’t really understand one of the main plot points - it just didn’t make sense the character’s motivations vs their actions. Usually plot won’t throw me too bad but for this one it just all didn’t work for me. I also would have just liked more oomph to the romance.
So, overall, a nice, fun book with good characters and a fluffy romance, but not much more than that. I’ve rated the others in this series a bit higher, this one is just a 3 for me.
If you like the series, you’ll probably be fine - or more! - with this one, still good overall.
I received an advance copy of the book and have left my honest, influence-free review
•ARC Review – The Jack*aa in Class by Amy Award 4.75 ⭐️ ~ 3️
If you’re looking for a book that feels safe, welcoming, and real — The Jackass in Class is exactly that. Amy Award knows how to write women in all their raw, complex, unfiltered glory. Few authors capture female characters with such honesty and heart.
I loved this book. What truly stood out to me was how deeply these characters see each other — like, really see.
Tempest and Flynn start off on shaky ground. She’s cautious, guarded — not because of trauma or toxic family dynamics, but because of deeply rooted social expectations and subtle internalized fears. Her family is loving, but not perfect (and trust me, there’s a twist or two waiting for you there).
Flynn? He’s your golden retriever-type with a flirtatious streak — charming, fun, a little reckless — but there’s pain underneath, too. He’s afraid to love, afraid to lose. And yet, when the right person comes along, it gets harder and harder to hide behind walls.
Another highlight? The found family. Abuela is a force of nature — I adored her. The Navarro–Kingman combo? Chef’s kiss. And don’t even get me started on Tempest’s girlfriends. Their group chats, their chaotic “missions” to support and protect her… iconic.
This book is about self-acceptance and emotional vulnerability. It’s funny, touching, and real in all the right places.
✨ Bonus: I cannot wait to see what happens now that Griff and Artemis — our favorite chaotic duo — are roommates! Amy, I’m ready.
Thank you so much @lovenotespr and @amyaward for this ARC
Amy Award has completely stolen my heart again with The Jackass in Class! I’ve adored every book in this series, but this one truly stood out — it had me laughing out loud, swooning, and tearing up more than once. Amy has a gift for writing stories that feel both hilarious and deeply heartfelt, and this book is the perfect example. One of the things I love most is how the romance unfolds between the Tempest and Flynn. What starts as a tension-filled, often hilarious dynamic between two opposites slowly evolves into a beautifully layered love story. Watching them go from misunderstanding and annoyance to genuine connection and tenderness was so satisfying. Their emotional growth, both individually and as a couple, felt incredibly real. Amy gives them room to be flawed, messy, and authentic — and that just makes their journey all the more rewarding. I also continue to admire Amy’s commitment to body inclusivity. It’s rare and so appreciated to see characters who reflect real-life diversity — not just in appearance but in confidence, vulnerability, and self-discovery. It’s something she consistently does with grace, humor, and heart. This series has become such a comfort for me, and The Jackass in Class just reaffirmed why I love it so much. I love how supportive the Kingman family are and how they rally behind every sibling and their partners. I’m already counting down to the next installment. If you haven’t started this series yet, you're truly missing out. Amy Award writes romance like no one else — honest, empowering, and completely unforgettable.
I can always count on the Kingman brothers to bring the swoon factor ans this book did not disappoint! I loved reading about Flynn ans Tempest relationship! Nothing makes me more happy than a man who falls hard for his girl!
Flynn is the classic jock playboy who only dates a girl for 2 weeks. He has a set of rules to make his football career his main priority. So what happens when a donkey interrupts a pep rally and he meets a girl who doesn’t give him any attention?
Tempest is a romance author hiding her true self behind a secret identity. She is trying to learn how to manage her dream and the expectations of her family. She has a lot of growth in this book and find her voice 🌸
Together these two were both swoons ans funny. Great banter and funny encounters that makes their relationship wholesome and pure. Flynn has the classic Kingman charm and treats his woman as a Queen.
It wouldn’t be a Kingman story without some low angst and drama. It was very interesting to see how things unfolded. And Abuela was my favorite character🌸 a force to be reckon with!
As should be expected with a book by Amy Award, there was lots of fluff with some spice sprinkled in. The book has a lot of found family ans strong female friendships. And it touches on issues such as confidence and body positivy. Overall the books message is inspiring and uplifting!
📖 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: Flynn Kingman wants to send his college years off in style, until he meets Tempest. Then the plans change - and all he can think about is landing his dream girl.
🌟 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: I guess the issue with a 7 book series is that you have to keep it fresh, and this one felt a little too much like the others. I loved the first two and liked the third and fourth, but there’s clearly a playbook here now and I didn’t love the predictability.
I did like the cast of characters (the glimpses at last couples were fun, too), and the hi-jinx (especially Tempest’s foster donkey). I laughed a bit, for sure, too. I didn’t love the fact that Tempest was a senior in college and had never been kissed, and that the “PR scandal” has been repeated at 80% in three of the first five books.
Depending on the premise of the next round, I’ll definitely decide if I’m continuing with this series.
Convincing you to read this book in three words: baby donkey shenanigans.
I’m not sure how they manage it but somehow every Kingman book gets more chaotic. Did you know I love messy meet cutes? They make for amazing love stories. I loved how Flynn has both stereotypical jock qualities but also aces his classes and loves Shakespearean literature. He’s also a consent king and that’s so incredibly attractive. The personal growth they both manage in this story is impressive, especially Tempest’s: seeing her grow into herself and being proud of who she is out loud, no matter what others say, is beautiful to see.
The found family in this book is wonderful: the KAT sorority/ Donkey Sitters Club, the Kingmans adopting Tempest into their midst because Flynn cares for her. AbuelitaNovela has had my heart ever since the Lion in the Library (check out the To L.A. with Love Anthology) and this just enforced that feeling. The Kingmans are a wonderful family, but adding the Navarro’s to the mix makes it even better. This book brings so much joy in every way and I already can’t wait for the next one.
Tempest and Flynn are thrown together in a campus tutoring program. Flynn the usual charmer can’t seem to get Tempest to warm up to him, actually she seems to be doing anything to avoid him. One problem he seems to be the one who can help her with a tiny problem…the baby donkey! Stuck together and Flynn’s harms may just be breaking down Tempest’s walls.
🫏 Forced Proximity ❤️🔥 Hate-ish to Lovers 🦆 Ugly Duckling 🤫 Secret Identity 🤓 Jock x Book Nerd 🏈 College Football 💜 Plus Size Heroine
The Kingman Brother’s do it again and show everyone how to be the perfect book boyfriend. I absolutely loved Tempest right off the bat. We love a nerdy curvy reader…and this one has all the attitude and fierceness to make her that much more lovable. Such a classic: the jock falls for the book need (cue heart eyes). Flynn was instantly enamored with her as he should be. It is the absolute best when the playboy reputation MMC turns to mush over the FMC. One thing bout Amy’s books is she is always going to give you that strong feminine energy supported by the most green flag men (and it never gets old). I love the Kingman family so much and can’t wait for more from Amy!
Did this book just become my favourite Amy Award book? Yes, yes it did!💜
Flynn and Tempest’s story was everything! I loved it sooooooo much!🥹 And the star of the book was, of course, Burrito Petito, the best baby donkey ever!🫏 The shenanigans this donkey gets up to is so hilarious and cute.😂 I want a baby donkey know thanks to Amy Award.👀💜
Tempest is truly a wonderful FMC. I love everything about her. She is quiet but will not hesitate to protect those she loves. She has a soft heart and works incredibly hard while keeping her identity as a successful romance author a secret from the world.👀 Her growth was amazing throughout this book and I’m so happy she found herself and got her HEA with Flynn in the end.🥹
Flynn Kingman is something else.😂 I loveeeeee him and how he pursues Tempest.💜 He is cocky and flirty but deep down he’s scared to commit and love because what if he loses it?🥺 I enjoyed watching him break down his walls for Tempest and grow in his own way. These two both needed each other and even though Tempest was stubborn in the beginning and Flynn only wanted to be friends, their love blossomed and it was beautiful.🥹
I’m so grateful to have received an arc copy of this book. The Cocky Kingman series is one of my favourite sports romance series EVER, and I can’t wait for the next book!💜
In Amy’s latest Cocky Kingmans series, this book focuses on one of the Kingman twins, Flynn and secret author, Tempest. Their connection begins with banter, deepens with each “study” session, and ignites into something neither of them can deny. Tempest’s body confidence and sharp intellect shine, making her a standout heroine, while Flynn’s emotional growth and respect for her boundaries turn him into the kind of book boyfriend you root for hard.
Tropes like “secret identity,” “slow burn,” and “grumpy/sunshine” are used perfectly, and the chemistry crackles. What makes this story especially compelling is its honest portrayal of body image, vulnerability, and the power of choosing love even when it scares you.
This one’s for readers who want spice, swoon, and a heroine who owns every inch of herself.
⭐️: 4/5 🌶️: 2/5
Thank you to Amy Award and Love Notes PR for an advanced copy! All opinions are honest and my own.
I’m so grateful for the opportunity to have received this book as an ARC. I love returning to this series because I know it’s always going to be a good time, and TJIC didn’t disappoint. I was laughing out loud all the time at not only the Kingman family antics, but also the antics of The Donkey Sitters Club. Genuinely, I think this one has been the funniest Kingman book yet.
I felt so seen in Tempest’s story. There were a lot of parts of her that I could recognize in myself that made the story feel that much more enjoyable. She was such a strong, multifaceted character who we got to see grow into her confidence and take charge for herself.
I also love how much of Mr. Kingman we got to see in this one, and how we’ve gotten to see more of him as the series has progressed. He’s been a guiding hand in all of his sons’ love lives, but it seems fitting that the book he’s one of the biggest voices of reason comes out around Father’s Day.
An escaping donkey, A bookworm/secret author and a football captain, this is definitely the recipe for at fun and entertaining book.
This book Is definitely for the vibe readers, it is one of those books there you just go with the flow. You don’t have to overanalyze, look for hidden meaning or craft af timeline, you just have to be.
This book is a slowburn, and when I say slowburn I mean sloooooowburn.
I really liked how this book highlighted the romance genre and talk about how some people outside the bookish world, view romance books as wast of space or superficial. I think we all know the felling of having to defend our books to people there are not part of the romance book world.
I absolutely loved this book!! 📖 I have loved the whole Kingman series!! The Kingman men are drool worthy!! 🥵
Amy's books have a way to make you feel worthy and accepted no matter what size you are. All women deserve a happy ending even us plus size ones!
Flynn and Tempest story had so many loving ❤️, funny 🤣 and sexy 🥵 scenes!
Flynn is a college football player that doesn't want to fall in love. He is a two week only guy. He never allows anything to go on more then two weeks with a girl. But when a cute little Donkey leads him to a pretty curvy Tempest will she make him want to break his rule???
Tempest is a college student that wants to make her family proud. She has a secret that she doesn't want anyone to know. She isn't looking for anyone to come into her life. Is Flynn the guy to be there for her when things get turned upside down??
